We've sometimes talked about books when discussing franchises that contain books, but this is our first ever all-books podcast. I had a great time talking about the ones that were so important to shaping my life. Give it a listen and let us know what you think.

I loved the Mandalorian TV series, but it seemed odd to me to take a series whose concept was so well-geared to villain-of-the-week style storytelling to turn it into a film. What did we all think of the finished project? Check out our episode to find out.

Anyone but me watching The Librarians: The Next Chapter? It's never going to be as good as the original show, but I think that the second season is a huge improvement over the first. Unfortunately with TNT burning off 2 eps/week it seems unlikely we'll get a 3rd.

I liked DD Born Again S1, but S2 was in a whole other category. This shows the problem with so many shows lately - not enough eps to hit their stride. DD had a 17 episode out of the gate, so they could plan a longer story with a better payoff. Hope you like our discussion.

I'm still surprised that it took us two episodes to cover Star Trek: Voyager when TNG and DS9 took us one each. Just goes to show that this show packs a surprising punch. Great discussion that I hope that you enjoy!

I feel like there was a lot that was really good about 90's Trek. Voyager was the most inconsistent series of the first 5 Star Trek shows, but because of that it was a wild ride. I do think that it had some really great characters. Hope that you enjoy listening to our discussion.

I love most versions of Batman. This one was amazing as a darker take on the character, but with some of the old Batman: The Animated Series DNA in there with the design elements. It's cool how they did a different mix of elements to give this a "timeless" feel than in BTAS.

We discussed Villains on the podcast a long time ago. This time we thought that we should discuss heroes. We had a great discussion about the place of the hero in society as well as the rise of the antihero and who are favorite heroes are. Listen and let us know what you think!

Galaxy Quest was one of those movies that I would show people that came to my house if they hadn't seen it. It was an obvious homage to Star Trek, but you didn't have to be a Trekkie to understand and love it. Loved talking about it on the cast, and I hope you love listening.

I felt a lot of whiplash watching this season. It veered from farcical to horror with very little room inbetween. We discuss that dichotomy, the character dynamics, future legacies, and a whole lot more in this one. Check it out!

Apple TV surprised me with the great sci-fi series that they have on the network. One of those is Silo. It stands out from other post-apocalyptic series about humanity taking shelter underground building of some kind. Give a listen to our panel and check the show out for yourself

My kids turned me on to the Avatar: The Last Airbender cartoon. I thought it was good, but never hit as hard as it could have. I think the Netflix series is a rare case where the live action may actually be better than the original. Come along with us as we discuss.

Although it's probably not my favorite animated series of all time, X-Men: The Animated Series is in my top 3, and it is easily the series that has had the most influence on my life. I was over-the-moon that there'd be a continuation and had a blast talking about it. Hope you enjoy!

It seems like A.I. is everywhere these days and people have lots of big opinions on the topic. I thought it was a good idea to bring a group together and discuss A.I., why people are upset about it, what the potential is, and where we think it's being misused. Hope you enjoy it!

I was excited for a dark take on Star Trek, not because I want "Star Trek" to be dark, but because I think when there are so many Star Trek series that there's room for a wide spectrum of tones. This ended up not being that. How did we all feel? Check out the show to find out.

With the new movie out we thought it was a great time to finish up our discussion of The Mandalorian series. We had a fun time discussing how we felt about this season and how it works with all of the other Star Wars content we've gotten in the last several years. Check it out!

Wonder Man was a very unique offering from Marvel. I'm glad that they're getting a season 2, because I wasn't satisfied with season 1. There are the hints of a character arc, but we need more context and payoff. Hoping S2 brings it, but either way it's a fun ride!

Podcasting has allowed me to realize a lot of dreams. One of them has been being able to talk to some of the creators who so influenced my life over the years. Brynne was an amazing guest and had lots of great stories to tell. I encourage everyone to check this one out.

I have always loved this movie. Even though it was made in 1951 the messaging, performances, and effects hold up and feel authentic to this day. It was a complete joy to watch with others who got as enthusiastic as I did. Check this one out and let me know what you think.

1 of 2 For All Mankind is one of the most inspirational shows that I've ever seen. But unlike most inspirational shows it isn't a relentless barrage of feel good stories and everything turning out ok in the end. Space is dangerous and the show shows that,

Invincible is the best written superhero TV series (animated or live action) of all time. The characters feel like how people would act if they had powers. The fights are amazing. The plots are interesting and keep you engaged. Come listen to some friends and I as we talk about this show.

For years I wouldn't watch this movie, because I thought that it would just be a screed about the glories of the Confederacy. The reality was far more nuanced than I could have imagined. This was a neat panel, because we talked about this amazing film warts and all.

One Piece is bar none the greatest anime/manga to live action adaptation. There have been some other good ones, but this one is fantastic. They somehow figured out how to tell the story in less time, but still leave everything important intact. I highly recommend it.

I remember the Muppet Show from when I was really, really young. It must have been on second run some time in the early 80's, because I was 2 or 3 when it went off the air. I have *always* been entertained by these characters and love whenever they get a new iteration.

It was so surreal that someone insisted to me that men and women see Gargoyles differently, but never explained how. They said that their podcast would explain, but their show ended before they ever released their Gargoyles episodes. Now, I'm seeing if this is true.

As much as I thought that Discovery never stuck the landing on ending the seasons, I loved the characters and was sorry to see it go. Had a lovely discussion talking about the finer points of the final season and looking forward to seeing some of the characters in Starfleet Academy.

Why X-Men: The Animated Series Never Featured Kitty Pryde - SlashFilm
Kitty Pryde is a major figure in X-Men comics. So why didn't the 1990s animated series ever feature her as a character, even as a supporting player?

I really love the Daredevil film and have ever since I first saw it. It's one of the few times that I've watched a movie three times in the theater. People hate on it a lot, but it's a story about hope after going through dark times with some fantastic performances. It was great talking about it.

It feels like it's becoming common practice to slag off the original Doctor Who series as sexist, but how does it really stack up both against other shows of the time or against the new series? It's a serious topic, but as Doctor Who fans we thought it was well worth discussing.

I've never played the Fallout games, but this show immediately hooked me with the overall tone & the retro-futuristic vibe. It's offbeat & funny while looking absolutely amazing and also being a bit disturbing and exciting. Love it and can't wait for S2. Have some fun and listen to us discuss.

Great to see the Netflix series acknowledged. I really hope to see more of this on Disney+ beyond more seasons of Born Again and the Punisher special. Would "really" love to have Heroes for Hire and/or Daughters of the Dragon. Listen to us talk about this glorious return.
