RACISM?
When can we talk about black racism in the WNBA, and the assaults against Caitlyn Clark?
It’s not racism when Jussie Smollett and Jonathan Majors are called out for crimes, when Simone Biles is challenged for tanking the Olympics, when Gabrielle Union is fired for acting like a jackass, when Coco Gauff and Angel Reese are called out for sportsmanship.
It’s not racism when Warner makes choices Ray Fisher disapproves of, when Monique shits on everyone who tries to help her, when Max cancels “Rap Shit” after two seasons, when Ava gets no awards for Origin which lost millions, when Taraji gets a free rental car instead of a limo driver.
It’s not racism when the Globes can’t find Africans who are foreign reporters writing yearly about U.S. film in LA and accredited by the MPAA. There are just not that many.
Lessons in black history. Cleopatra was white, Greek. The ancient Egyptians were not black. Hair braiding, hair scarves (also forehead marks) originated in Europe. Black slaves first arrived in America in 1526, not 1619.
Racism. Ava Duvernay brags about refusing to watch Queen’s Gambit because it had a white lead.
Whining about awards is childish. Looking at you, Spike, Samuel L., Kanye. Andrea Riseborough earned her Oscar nom. Not every black history movie is Oscar-caliber, including Till which even blacks ignored. Angela Bassett didn’t deserve an Oscar for over-acting in a comic book movie.
Beyonce has two songs anyone remembers, and 33 Grammys. No Grammys at all: Hendrix, Janis, Queen, the Who, the Dead, Buddy Holly, the Supremes, Abba, Chuck Berry, the Beach Boys, Katy Perry. Let Harry Styles have the one Grammy.
Harry Styles poses in gender-neutral clothes, the community goes nuts, something about dissing Billy Porter, as though no white man had ever worn a skirt before.
Woe betide any artist who runs afoul of a female rapper who needs to pick a fight with someone, so she can get social clicks because she’s dropping a new single.

Children who lean trans before puberty often switch from trans to gay later, so rushed surgery is risky. Women should choose who is in the room when they sleep or change. Sports should consider birth sex. Trans therapy science is not solid. But we can’t have that talk.
Most of what JK Rowling said is true, a reflection of life-long efforts at inclusion and protecting women. But we can’t have that talk.
Tribesmen in Europe invented hair-braiding, marking a woman’s forehead, and head scarves, and white American girls created the schoolgirl look. White girls are allowed to use their own styles.
Hollering about appropriation. Hailey Bieber used brown lipliner. Awkwafina, her Queens accent. J Lo, Thandiwe Newton not brown enough. Alec Baldwin’s wife isn’t Spanish enough. Prince Harry named his girl Lilibet. Kendall Jenner in a tequila ad. Iggy Azalea in a straight-haired wig.
Remember, black performers “appropriated” styles and sports invented by whites. Nicki Minaj spent $20,000 on surgeons to look white, and then there’s…whatever the hell Michael Jackson did to himself. Fifth Dimension, Johnny Mathis, Charley Pride, Darius Rucker.
The typical rapper is a millionaire from a nice street, church choirs, prep schools, business degrees; Tupac did ballet, Nicki played clarinet. Autotune, drum machines, sampling, the “revolution” that sounds like “honey got some boobies like wow, oh wow…”. But keep it real for the hood, bro.
Liberals attacked Halle Berry for touching a script with a trans role, James Franco for playing Castro, Matt Damon playing a white role in the Wall, Helen Mirren playing a Jewish politician, Scarlett and Tilda Swinton and Emma Stone for playing Asian roles that weren’t even Asian.
Liberals attack LM Miranda for no Cubans in Hamilton, Sia for not hiring an autistic actor, Disney for not hiring a gay makeup artist for Mermaid, Killing Eve for not being diverse even though it was loaded with women, Spielberg for not putting blacks in West Side.

Cancel wars. The coach of the Spanish women’s soccer team got fired because some other Spanish guy kissed a girl; the coach himself didn’t kiss anybody.
Cancel wars. Sophie Turner got caught cheating on her husband and spent months trying to paint him as the villain.
Barbie was a comedy about a toy. Got as many nominations as Casablanca, more noms than Silence of the Lambs and Hamlet. But eight noms wasn’t enough: sexism!
Cancel wars. Alyssa Milano, any man who is even accused must be destroyed. Jameela Jamil, even consensual sex is a violation. Me Too leader Tarana Burke, all men are guilty.
Grey’s Anatomy had an episode in which an assault victim was wheeled through an all-female row of staffers, to make her feel safe. No men were allowed: all men are scary and dangerous.
Women didn’t defend Hillary, we lost Roe v Wade. Or defend Meghan Markle, Jennifer Aniston, Rachel Zegler, Whoopi, Andrea Riseborough, Leigh Ann Tuohy, Rowling, Jada, Megan Rapinoe, Caitlyn Clark…
