EXPO LINE SKYTRAIN FREQUENCIES TO SURREY REDUCED TO EVERY 20 MINUTES TONIGHT AFTER AESPA

PLAN ACCORDINGLY: Track work affecting downtown stations (with a single tracking zone between Waterfront and Commercial Broadway) will overlap with track work in Surrey (with a single tracking zone between 22nd Street and Gateway Stations), resulting in train frequencies reduced to every 20 minutes between Stadium and Surrey - with trains to Scott Road only, and an additional transfer required to continue to Surrey Central and King George Stations.

The Surrey side maintenance alert is NOT showing under "today's alerts" because TransLink appears to have programmed the alert incorrectly (it is showing for the next day) - transit rider contacts and other inside contacts have confirmed to me that this is taking place tonight.

Plan accordingly as train services will be operating at 50% normal capacity or less compared to pre 2024 PW branch trackwork - even with full loads exiting Rogers Arena.

Edmonton bet on a European-style LRT and got burned. Wait times for LRTs were 20 minutes at midday on Saturday when I visited Edmonton in 2018. That could soon become the same on the brand-new Valley Line. This is an important lesson for #SurreyBC. #vanpoli #vanre #translink #SayNOtoLRT

Not everywhere in Canada is messing up! In Metro Van, we are building the Surrey Langley SkyTrain—a line that was born after advocates worked hard to kibosh a plan to build a line that would have looked like the Valley Line or the Finch West LRT. Elevated has always been a great way to go fast!
