When you're supposed to be cleaning the studio, but keep making collages with the scraps

I agree that if you wait for the perfect conditions, you'll never get anything done. Sometimes you just have to get to work, no matter how small. And I'm slightly bothered at not producing larger work, but I feel like I'm finally finding a direction that could lead to larger things

That's actually a Golden acrylics green gold, which kinda does some amazing shifts between olive and bright yellow. A little expensive, but fun to play with

Not my intention, of course, but if it helps, I've barely finished any paintings this year and am really struggling with larger canvases

Aaa no, I didn't realize that I missed the backspace button. Should read 21 cm 🙃

Yesterday, I finished my 11th collage sketchbook of the year. Quite the accomplishment, since I haven't finished a single non-collage sketchbook in years.

But your work is fantastic! I honestly dislike sketching in dry media as I'd rather be painting, but you can't always lug all your kit with you. And direct observation of a subject works better for me than photos or video, even if I'm relying on memory later in the studio

Sorry, meant to reply to this and got distracted. I feel like the point of taping the papers together (at least in my practice) is mainly to get some large, energetic marks going across pages that get cropped when the pages are separated, but retain the energy. Not sure if that's what you want tho

Probably #2 for me as well. I feel like there are some great dynamic lines in the underpainting, particularly that curve near the bottom left of the 4th image, that get a little lost in the shuffle

I think I got the idea from an old Louise Fletcher video on YouTube. If I happen to find it again I can share it
