The LLM we have at home. Colibri breaks down a model so only the parts of the model relevant to the query are in RAM. It runs on potato at .24 tok/s (I did absolutely nothing beyond download 2 files and kick them until they worked - but it's still amusing that they did. )

It's taken a week to get it comfy.... same desktop background, same keyboard illumination, all my files transferred - some of which date back to 2005. I haven't changed desktop background since maybe 2010.

It might feel like computer performance is standing still to a regular user -- my desktop from 2014 still trucks along merrily. It's not. That's a laptop CPU out-benchmarking a 2000 euro CPU from 2018. And the laptop was cheaper and runs on battery. 8 years is forever in compute. But lol.

It's a long time since I've sat and just weebed. It used to be when I was unemployed I'd do nothing but watch anime for 11pm to 4am or so and then sleep until 3. That's a long time ago now.

Ruining an old case to make it suitable for a laptop. Might make good carryon bag.

Today on things from countries that don't exist anymore. Bought this to act as a laptop case. Sadly it's organised a little to wrong inside for that. It's a little too large to be a camera case. I wonder what it'd originally been made for. It is a lovely thing. It looks like an artists.

Disposed of 4-5 black bags worth of crap. Including Windows 7 RC DvDs, Linux Isos from when Fawns were Feisty. Somehow have less space than when it started. A 'gaming' laptop from 2012 was set aside in good order. It still runs and powers on. Got the equipment set up beside Mt Doom

Fortuitous cloud dimmed the sun enough that it couldn't been seen through the camera filter. But it was fine through the naked eye.

New Pre-amp with adjustable gain. Cartridge has 8mv output which merrily overloaded the bejaysus out of the Project Phono-Box thing. It's happy with 33dB of gain. 40dB was too much. Benefit of the high generator output is less noise in the system overall. I live in a noisy space.

Unstoppable is one of my favourite films. It has big fucking trains in it. And they actually used actual fucking trains - no computers. Some railway was like ' Yeah, thanks for the money. There's some trains and some tracks - go at it' Hate shakeycam mind you

I've been fiddling with this today. It's a lot of fun in a way audiophile stuff isn't - There's flickering lights and tactile elements and buttons to touch and they do curious things to the music. It cost me 700 quid with cartridge and cover.

Bought a basic impact wrench. Car is 20 years old and everything is rusted together. If it's used once and works it'll pay for itself. If it doesnt work - it's for the pro's anyway. --- dicked with it in the shed and cracked a concrete block by overtorqueing a bolt holding a roofbeam.

16 year old HDD. (According to the model no.) 4.6 years of continuous run time on it. I knew it was old - I built the PC in 2014 and I had it before I built the PC - but I didn't know it was this old.

Post 11/17 From the #cosplay Walk-the-Plank at #kaizokucon Ilford Delta 3200. Flash is an option - but constant flickering would be distracting for many, so I decided not to use it. These are the ones that came out close to OK. With film, it doesn't always work.
