Cross stitch era continues. (The pattern is by ChocoCocoStitch on Etsy.)

A cross stitch on black fabric in a black frame that says “I [heart] Zelda” in gold letters. Link is holding the heart up. There is a sword at the bottom.

Nintendo has heard my feedback from the Direct that announced Echoes of Wisdom and the Ace Attorney Investigations and applied it to Kirby. I accept this peace offering.

Another screenshot from minutes later in the same Discord server in which darthplagal (me) says "GIVE EDGEWORTH A SWORD, YOU COWARDS." No one reacted with emojis, but I know in my heart that I am correct. In this essay I will

r33nie always sends me the coolest, fanciest pastries on my birthday. Everyone should have amazing friends in their lives who understand that the best way to celebrate anything is with croissants as big as your face.

Pain au chocolat that’s bigger than an adult human fist, and two croissants striped with red (berry) and green (lemon) flavouring.

In my cross stitch era. (Sorry about the Oracles fairy game earworm.)

A cross stitch of a circle of fairy sprites from the Zelda Game Boy games. The great fairy from Link’s Awakening is at the bottom centre, flanked by two of the fairies who play hide and seek in Oracle of Seasons and recovery fairies from both games. Fairies that I think are meant to evoke Navi form a circle around this.

The @zeldathon.com prize packs are completely stacked, and things I made are in *all six* of the daily bundles alongside really cool stuff from the rest of the community. (I may have gone a bit ham. If you announce a '90s-themed marathon, I WILL get out the neon yarn. Not sorry.)

Four knitted hats and eight pairs of fingerless gloves in various colours lie on top of the mid-sized bubble mailer that barely contained them all. There are a lot of Triforces and Octoroks because Zeldathon.

When your friends are playing a game you probably won't play.

Sorry, I could absolutely see an FFVI NPC saying this so it had to get run through deathgenerator.com#ff6

A Final Fantasy VI-style textbox (royal blue with white text and a grey gradient border) that says "RACHEL: How many frickin Guys are in this game?! There's so many guys!" which is a thing Rachel just said about Final Fantasy VI.

Slightly delayed in posting this, but it was really cool to get to see the Hint Man hat on set at @rpglimitbreak.bsky.social!

A screenshot from RPG Limit Break, which is raising money for NAMI. moonblazewolf and Ayymart are seated in grey chairs with a crocheted Dragon Quest slime placed between them. moonblazewolf is holding a yellow hat with the word "HINT" stitched onto it in the style of the Hint Man sign from Earthbound. It was made by me and available as a donation-incentive prize on the first day of the marathon.

Crochet is becoming easier with practice, and I think I ship these Breath of the Wild chuchus now.

Two crocheted Breath of the Wild-style chuchus (one is “regular” in pale blue and the other is “electric” in bright yellow) sit facing each other. They should kiss already.

Can confirm, I would have lost fingerless glove yarn chicken. But I did narrowly win small crocheted ball yarn chicken.

A crocheted orange ball sits next to all that’s left of the orange yarn after making it. It’s coiled up but it’s like 30 inches long, at the most.

I’m showing great personal growth by not trying to see if I can get a second glove out of this. Please clap.

What’s left (12 grams, according to my kitchen scale) of a skein of Cascade 220 Superwash yarn in bright orange sits atop a mechanical keyboard. There is maybe 20% of the original skein left.

Finally knit something for the Earthbound fans—hopefully available at an appropriately themed charity marathon soon!

A yellow hat with the word “HINT” stitched onto it in black letters. The letters are a little crooked, just like on Earthbound Hint Man’s yellow sign that also says”HINT”.

I'm here to empathize with one of the last practice seeds I streamed before Frost, which was cursed and went almost exactly an hour over event estimate. (The event seed, thankfully, was fine.)

A screenshot from a stream featuring Link's Awakening DX Randomizer with a four-instrument requirement. The character sprite is climbing the bridge to the Wind Fish after the game ends. The LiveSplit timer shows a completed time of 2:25:39.97. The specific splits indicate that the runner had all four required instruments at the 1:12:38 mark but then had to spend nearly an hour and 15 minutes hunting for one of two items that would let her finish the final fight.

In the top corner, a 40-year-old woman wearing a lavender headset stares off into space with her hand covering her face.

The 2:25:39.97 time was a full hour over her estimate for the event she was practicing for. And that's why seeds get vetted. (Event went fine.)

I would have been about eight or nine when I made this. I’ve since learned how to spell “Awakening.” I was also so committed to the idea of a top 5 that I included Tetris 2, a Game Boy game I’m pretty sure I not only didn’t have but never played on that console. LADXR at @framefatales.com tonight!

A laser jet printout made by an eight-year-old. The text reads:

TOP FIVE GAME BOY GAMES OF THE WEEK!!!!!!

1. The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening (“Awakening” is misspelled)
2. Super Mario Land 2: Six Golden Coins
3. Super Mario Land
4. Tetris
5. Tetris 2

No, I did not NEED more stitch markers, but if you're going to offer a set with a CRT and a little handheld console, I'm going to buy it.

Thanks to everyone who hung out, unlocked all the GIFs, and raised $135 for @makeawishamerica.bsky.social! (Look at how happy BowWow was to see Manbo. It doesn't even matter that the item was a Zol attack.)

A screenshot from my Zeldathon pre-marathon stream featuring Link's Awakening DX randomizer -- BowWow is informing Manbo that we do, in fact, have an ocarina. There is also a bingo card on screen in addition to a range of Zelda meme gifts ("Excuuuuse me, princess," "Good," "I am Error," Frog's Song of Soul, a Pokémon crossover take on the "it's dangerous to go alone screen," Link dancing with what I think is a korok, Link dancing with Wario, Zelda and Link looking stunned in, I think, Spirit Tracks, and a meme about how cutting down 110 trees so you can attend a wedding is better than doing the main quest. I'm also there. We raised $135 for Make-A-Wish America in an hour.
