The inquiry was unfinished, but the public verdict was already complete. ⚖️ “Jason Arday: Guilty Before the Facts” examines race, institutional power and why a Black man reaching the top is rarely permitted an ordinary failure. ✊🏾

"A market ceases to function when competition disappears. And it’s disappearing," contends writer Mike Schur in a guest column for The Hollywood Reporter
bit.ly
Mike Schur: The Paramount-Warner Bros. Merger Is Existential for Writers
Let’s begin with a statement of fact: mega mergers in Hollywood are bad for writers. They’re also bad for actors and directors, for production designers and caterers, for carpenters and Teamsters and electricians and set decorators. They are bad for consumers, who get fewer choices in entertainment controlled by fewer bosses with narrower worldviews. Mergers are bad for local businesses, who lose paying customers from disappearing productions. They are bad for high level TV and film executives, and entry-level assistants, and everyone in between.

🔥 Big problems. Small answers. Heatwaves. Drought. Wildfires. Failing infrastructure. 🇬🇧 Britain’s response? Stop selling disposable barbecues. 🤦🏾‍♂️ The emergencies get bigger. The answers get smaller. #britain #climate #infrastructure #systems

Strict for the public… flexible for everyone else. 🚿 We’re told we’re a leading economy — but in places like Royal Tunbridge Wells, basic services don’t add up. At what point does “shared responsibility” become one-sided? 📉

KFC open on Christmas Day 🍗🎄 I’ve said this year that Christmas doesn’t feel like Christmas, and this confirms why. People matter. But we’ve lost shared pauses. We’re more fragmented now, drifting toward an always on, US-style convenience culture. KFC isn’t the cause, it’s the symptom. #fragment

Bad leadership doesn’t just make systems inefficient — it drives out the people who actually care. 🚪 The result? Hollow institutions, low trust, and permanent decline. This isn’t new. It’s structural. Promote the wrong people, and the best will always walk. 🧠⚖️
