Latest portrait! This one felt like it had a bit of a different flow compared to previous portraits and I don’t know why. At various stages I see-sawed between working too tightly and wanting to take things looser and more free. Here’s how things ended up. A3, graphite on paper #graphite #pencil

Probably the last sketch I’m gonna get out of this one. On to the next! #sketch #drawing #portrait #sketchbook #blackwing

Evening sketching does not provide the best lighting when taking a photo of said sketch. 🫠

*taps mic* Hi!! I've been trying to improve my gouache painting by doing portrait studies. I completed 50 within the year and then @darrenwellsart.bsky.social filmed a video of the sketchbook. Please enjoy <3 youtu.be/h9BeMDXmZOs?...

Ever made a thing where it seemed like you knew how things were going right up until the last minute, when you decided to remove a bunch of what you’d made and change how it looks entirely? Yeah, that was me.

First one in a long while that wasn’t rescued from the unfinished folder. Feeling a bit rusty, truth be told, but hopefully it’s the start of more to come. Sasha S from the Sktchy/Museum community. Made with #Procreate. #art #digitalart #portraitart

Another one from the unfinished folder, this one of Ashley G from the Museum/Sktchy community. Tried some different brushes too, with these pastels taking me a bit out of my comfort zone. Made with #Procreate #art #digitalart #portraitart

Long time no art, and with this one having spent far too long in my unfinished folder, I figured it was time to get it done. Made with #Procreate #art #digitalart #portraitart #painting

Taking things super loose and brushy with this portrait of Dannika Rose Sullivan. Wanted to keep every brushstroke on the canvas and try something a bit different, and this reference fit the bill. Made with Procreate. #art #digitalart #procreate #portraitart #painting

The urge to draw someone is overtaken by the emptiness of not knowing who to draw. 🫠 Send me your faces, your poses, your reference pics!

Sketch I did a while ago but didn’t post because I wasn’t sure if it was any good. Still not sure.

Traditional *anything* is still a medium I’m finding my feet with, and I’d like us to all ignore that formless smudge where a pearl necklace should be. And yet there’s something about this that… kind of works for me? So here we are: willow charcoal, toned paper, kneadable eraser.
