Darren Nash @darrenanash.com · 12hI have developed a theory over decades in publishing that once you get above the level of editor/marketer/publicist/designer – you know: the people who do the actual work on a book – you start dealing with unmitigated arseholes. 130

Darren Nash @darrenanash.com · 29/09/2026What do call someone who applies a demand-side solution to a supply-side problem? Personally, I’d call them a fucking idiot, but apparently the correct answer is: the Reserve Bank of Australia. 100
Darren Nash @darrenanash.com · 26/09/2026Well, I was already tempted to watch this, but now? It’s a definite. I read ‘Careless People’ for the same reason and holy shit, I can see why Meta wanted it banned. 021

Darren Nash @darrenanash.com · 16/09/2026Having spent almost two decades immersed in the British SF scene, is my sorry duty to inform you that this particular gentleman has been a right-wing dickwad for quite some time. Thus, this Musk-fellating does not surprise me. 110

Darren Nash @darrenanash.com · 07/09/2026Apparently I’m the only one in the house who knows that food can go back into the same cupboard, fridge or freezer it came out of. Now, what to do with this arcane knowledge … ?🤔 040

Darren Nash @darrenanash.com · 01/09/2026Indeed. I’m guessing that makes reading the newspaper of a morning an extremely stressful experience. Whatever fate you wish upon him (the secretary of war crimes), I hope he gets ten times worse. 100
Darren Nash @darrenanash.com · 01/09/2026I hope so too! At the moment, I can, but there’s a whole year for things to unravel, and if the 2020s have taught us anything, it’s to expect the unexpected. So … 🤞 100
Darren Nash @darrenanash.com · 01/09/2026I wasn’t in a position to attend, anyway, but even if I could have, I wouldn’t. No way I’d be allowed in the country with my social media record! 100

Darren Nash @darrenanash.com · 20/08/2026Leaving aside the monstrously unethical aspect of AI, I can’t think of a single thing I’d trust it to do. It’s genuinely frightening how many people are happy to outsource their thinking. 000

Darren Nash @darrenanash.com · 05/08/2026I have Eisteddfod PTSD from my time at a Christian Brothers school (don’t worry; they didn’t) when I was forced to participate in a school-wide event. “You’re entering the Eisteddfod, here’s the (terrible) poem you’re reading. Put some feeling into it”. Awful. But glad to hear yours was enjoyable! 120

Darren Nash @darrenanash.com · 05/08/2026No beanballs but I don’t agree. I enjoyed all three seasons, although I did think there was too much packed into S3 – all the subplots felt rushed and none more so than Nate’s whirlwind betrayal & redemption. The novelty of S1 was unsustainable but the sheer humanity carried across the entire show. 110
