It’s funny how we ridicule a person for misusing a noisy Reply All. Some apps like Outlook default to Reply All. We participate in many group chats running across multiple platforms. Group chats are by default, Reply All. I think the problem is we’ve normalised being part of multiple conversations.

I think they will all flatten out eventually. In the meantime, the new flat Copilot logo will feel out of place with the other M365 app logos.

Things change so fast. I work with what I have at the time. But I know screenshots will be different within 4 weeks. Logos should change less frequently. It feels like the other M365 apps only recently caught up to the Copilot folded-style of icon.

Left. I use a Surface Pro for work and use the touchscreen to scroll while reading. A left-oriented taskbar is more comfortable than a bottom-oriented taskbar, to swap between apps.

I think there’s some simple workplace lessons in Gollum’s profile and story for all of us. 1. Don’t be afraid to be yourself. Gollum had a “take me as I am” attitude. 2. Know what you want and go for it. 3. Simple plans might produce simple outcomes or they might just change the world.

The new Events app is appearing in Frontiers release of Teams, replacing the Meet app. It provides navigation through to the Meet experience. I expect the Meet experience will merge into the new Events app.

Excel skills are being democratised for people like me. But I would still want someone on my team who can see a spot when AI makes mistakes, fudges the figures, and can fix AI’s inefficient use of formulas. Because I sure won’t be able to spot those things without Excel skills.

I found the issue because my request was for instructions. I followed the steps because I wanted to achieve a goal and do a thing. When I get to step 6 or 7, if an option doesn’t exist, I am going to discover AI’s failure to deliver.

That’s right. Natural language instructions. They probably won’t replace your Rules in Outlook. support.microsoft.com/en-us/office... But Instructions are easy to set and seem to be reliable.

I haven’t used Notion for a while. On the iPad app I try to add text but the whole page scrolls up and the cursor is off the top of the page. I am running version 1.7.303. It‘s unusable to edit pages on my iPad with this bug. anyone else seeing it?

I'm sorry to be so "Old Man Yells at Cloud," but please just let me ask, do you remember when the menu bar was at the top and everything was up there? Why do we want a menu on the left, and a menu on the right? Now there are little menus sneaking up from the bottom? Who do I report this bug to?

When I use GenAI I can spend more time fixing a firt draft than if I had just written something myself. I imagine that lawyers, who need to choose their words more deliberately than most, might spend even more time fixing GenAI’s first draft.

I like how the Mac virtual desktops work with multiple displays. I can swap to a virtual desktop on one display and leave the other displays on their current desktops. Windows swaps virtual desktops on all displays.

I just killed two Paperlike covers in a row, putting them on my iPad Mini. As soon as a hair or dust particle gets on that sticky surface, it’s going to annoy me. I can’t ignore the micro-bubble that distorts the light from the screen. I’m just going bare screen. I don’t have the patience anymore.
