iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

I'm excited to go to the beach and play in the sand today. Summer is the best

A digital illustration or color sketch of a woman with pink hair in a bun is daydreaming, sitting leaning back on her hands on the sand with her back towards us. She's facing a bright blue sky with a massive watercolor cloud in the middle and is backlit by a warm sunny light source. She's wearing a white brazillian bikini and white bracelets.

Still kicking out comms every once in a while while I'm working on my other project. Thanks @thatcommie.bsky.social for the chance to work on one of my favorite characters from one of my favorite series #blazblue #noelvermillion #art #videogame #clipstudio #characterart

Noel Vermillion from Blaz Blue in her NOL uniform. She's holding bullets between her fingers and has dark circles under her eyes while holding the Bolverk gun in her other hand.

Helm of Mambrino page 4 All the things they could use that helmet for… if they could just have the helmet for themselves instead of it wasting away in that museum 🤔 #mangaart #sequential #art

A manga page of cat girl with kemonomimi talking to her pet rat. They’re dreaming about all the things they could do with the Helm of Mambrino if they stole it. The plans are gradually getting more and more unrealistic. They could use it to keep their drinks cool, as a centerpiece on the table, as an umbrella, as a template to get a cool haircut for her overgrown bangs, as a little car for the rat, or as a hot air balloon basket

WAIT I just got the joke, you literally do

In retrospect, I'm not sure if it was the most efficient approach, but every hair motion has its own timing, in addition to all of the shooting stars and twinkles. This is part of what took me so long to remember how to do 🧠

All of this is frame by frame animation too, fwiw. Its just more elegant of a view than in procreate, where the layers are scrollable for pages and pages

Hirv snagged me for a custom commission! This is the first I've animated something in a VERY long time, and I can really feel my brain stretching out from it (in a good way!) This is what it looks like "behind the scenes"

screenshot of a complicated and overlapping timeline within DaVinci Resolve, where I composited some of the individual hand-drawn animation aspects into something that felt coherent

How it started (client's references) --> What the result was (final character ref sheet). Really fun to work on!
