As a DARK SHADOWS fan account, I would have to watch the reboot of the show at 9:00. And at 8:00, I would watch THE GUNS OF PARADISE with guest star George DiCenzo, since DiCenzo was associate producer on the original series.

At age seven, I watched and loved the Spiderman TV movie. Now, I would watch THE WORLD AT WAR. Fans of STAR TREK shouldn't miss INDICT AND CONVICT, with William Shatner as a man accused of murder and a supporting cast consisting mostly of people who appeared on the show at some point.

The Kellys had big ideas about syndication, so I'm not surprised they were aggressive about cutting out network programming. Don't know about the diversity side- those shows may just have reminded people too strongly of LA to do big numbers in Sacramento.

Each of those shows sounds like the distilled essence of the 1970s. I guess EVENING AT THE SYMPHONY would have a side to it that could have come from another time, but everything about the rest of the schedule looks super-intense with period atmosphere.

I'm curious about BLACK ARROW. I know HEE HAW was a syndicated show, but in our market the CBS affiliate carried it and ran it at 7 on Saturdays, so I thought of it as the lead-in to the network's lineup. Odd for me to see at 9PM against Mary Tyler Moore and Bob Newhart.

I've seen him in person a couple of times, he is indeed terrific. I remember the first of those occasions, he got very passionate about why CSPAN was going to provide gavel-to-gavel coverage of the markup of the transportation bill. "That's 300 billion dollars of YOUR MONEY!"

CSPAN's BOOKNOTES. I love Brian Lamb's interviewing style, where one question is impossibly basic (I wouldn't be surprised if he'd asked Maraniss "Who is Bill Clinton?") and the next is ultra-detailed ("On page 273, you say x, but on page 419, you say y. Which is it?") made for great television.
