Another reason I'm glad I'm leaving modern gaming entirely very soon. Micro transactions everywhere, broken games on launch, failed promises, mistreated developers, egotistical developers, hand holding, expensive, battle passes, hackers, greedy publishers, gamers who don't care, and now AI 🫩

I have just announced to my family that I will stop paying for all streaming services by the end of the year. Returning to just buying movies and shows on dvd instead which is ironically cheaper now

There needs to be a bar rescue type of show but for game companies

I think it's so funny that I have moved on to my new #1 hobby, Cyberpunk TCG, where I am trying to go to their first ever major event in December at Chicago while at the same date, my old love, Halo, is having a freaking funeral at Seattle 😂

000

Dark Mess (GT: C00L01) @darkm3ss.bsky.social · 26/09/2026

Can BioWare or EA hurry and sell Mass Effect to another Studio please?! It's clear ME4 isn't going to happen under Saudi's rule and I'm tired of worrying if it'll happen or not.

Dark Mess (GT: C00L01) @darkm3ss.bsky.social · 25/09/2026

Oh and a Happy 19th birthday to Halo 3, the greatest game of all time btw 🎈🎂😁

Dark Mess (GT: C00L01) @darkm3ss.bsky.social · 25/09/2026

Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon are gonna merge into one company, Call of Duty and Halo are also merging into one company. All our favorite childhood battles are now merging into some horrific amalgamation blob and I hate it

000

Dark Mess (GT: C00L01) @darkm3ss.bsky.social · 23/09/2026

The next Cyberpunk game may not come out until we're deep in next gen consoles, Halo somehow fell even deeper into its dark hole, we may never get Mass Effect 4 now thanks to EA and Saudi, it's Batman Arkham's turn to live in the modern day remake pool of failure for the next 10 years... I'm done

000

Dark Mess (GT: C00L01) @darkm3ss.bsky.social · 22/09/2026

Agreed. All of 343 Industries (cause pets face it, Halo Studios is just a mask), needs to go. I'm convinced Xbox did not make a single penny of profit the entire 15 years they've existed Xbox just keeps making bad halo games out of spite against Bungie for leaving them and are in denial

000

Dark Mess (GT: C00L01) @darkm3ss.bsky.social · 22/09/2026

Remember, while Microsoft makes ungodly levels of profits, Xbox has been struggling to convince them to not be shut down since the Xbox One days, and as Asha announced while ago, there are many people on the team that simply stall development. Hopefully the correct people get laid off

Then again, try finding the best box of the 40th anniversary trilogy to collect. Standard 4K box with 3 separate cases for each movie, or the big Amazon box with every single goodie for fans you can think of but the discs are stacked. Or I could stick with VHS and I can SKIP THE COMMERCIALS! 🤩

000

Dark Mess (GT: C00L01) @darkm3ss.bsky.social · 22/09/2026

I thought trying to find the best version of games to collect was a pain, but try finding your most preferred version of movies is another level of torture 😭. Just looking at the best version of Back to the Future I want to collect. VHS for authenticity or 4K for extra features and best resolution?

It saddens me how sports video games are now. Every time I watch videos talking about old Madden games or old NBA games from the 2000s, it breaks my heart that modern gamers will never know how good sports games can really be.

000

Dark Mess (GT: C00L01) @darkm3ss.bsky.social · 27/07/2026

Anybody else sick to death of delays at this point? It's never been this bad back in the day. Every game nowadays has so much they have to manage and if even one thing goes wrong, that sets the release back a whole year! I'm tired of 100GB games. Bring me back when they were 1/10th the size.

Dark Mess (GT: C00L01) @darkm3ss.bsky.social · 27/07/2026

Why do I have the feeling Anonymous or Lizard Squad is back and behind the outages for both PlayStation and Xbox servers?

000

Dark Mess (GT: C00L01) @darkm3ss.bsky.social · 24/07/2026

I'm in the middle of working on my list of every video game I want to collect and own, and it's so saddening how many modern games I have to look up on the doesitplay website, ebay, wikipedia and YouTube videos just to find out of the game is on the disc or to just get digitally.

000

Dark Mess (GT: C00L01) @darkm3ss.bsky.social · 16/07/2026

I swear once Rockstar showed they had no plans for a physical release of GTA VI, the gaming industry got transported to hell

000

Dark Mess (GT: C00L01) @darkm3ss.bsky.social · 13/07/2026

I wish Dreamcast would've held on longer in the console war. They were ahead of their time with online gaming about to take off and if they garnered some third party support, really could've taken the fight to the other consoles.

Dark Mess (GT: C00L01) @darkm3ss.bsky.social · 06/07/2026

Even as someone who never played Pokemon up to that point, I still couldn't help but cave in to the hype and try it out. That summer was pretty fun can't lie. Shame it turned out the company was using it and us to spy on everyone

Dark Mess (GT: C00L01) @darkm3ss.bsky.social · 06/07/2026

I was only excited that we could've gotten a new Guitar Hero game. They even gave us a poll to see how excited we would be for a new one. Gaming has gotten too big for its own good and a crash is inevitable

Screw both of these awful companies. Buying companies that we're doing fine before, just to do nothing with them and shut them down ending thousands of jobs in the process. It still doesn't feel like these acquisitions are actually benefitting Xbox if they aren't making exclusives.

100

Dark Mess (GT: C00L01) @darkm3ss.bsky.social · 06/07/2026

Good Lord without that Activision/Blizzard and Bethesda purchase from a few years ago, Xbox would be absolutely screwed

I legit want to know the studios they have left. They have dropped so many studios over the past several years, I wonder what they have left?

200

Dark Mess (GT: C00L01) @darkm3ss.bsky.social · 06/07/2026

Cyberpunk TCG - September this year Cataclysm Arcade - Q4 this year Palworld TCG - July this year Here be Monsters - Q2 2027 Zeal - TBD And I will be there for all of them 😁

000

Dark Mess (GT: C00L01) @darkm3ss.bsky.social · 06/07/2026

I used to dabble in TCG's when I was a kid 20 years ago, but due to being poor, couldn't keep up. Now that I'm a video game refugee, I'm dipping my toes back and it's just insane how prepared they are with many games coming out for new people to try. I'm not stuck with Yugioh, pokemon or magic 😁

110

Dark Mess (GT: C00L01) @darkm3ss.bsky.social · 01/07/2026

Future generations are definitely being robbed out of great experiences and physical ownerships. They will never know a time before where you had the game actually in your hand, complete with a manual, disc, cover art to bask in awe of, letting their imagination run wild, etc.

Dark Mess (GT: C00L01) @darkm3ss.bsky.social · 11/06/2026

It's all a ruse. Every CEO always ends their tenure pissing off customers and maximizing profits for the company before they leave so the new one taking over can do a few "good" consumer things and everyone will praise them for it. Y'all will regret cheering by next year when she settles in

000

Dark Mess (GT: C00L01) @darkm3ss.bsky.social · 22/04/2026

God I wished I had friends. A partner. Somebody who could be there for me. Being alone hurts so much. I'm too isolated in tastes, hobbies, values, emotional state and so on to have anybody. And even if there was, I've gone on so long being alone, the commitment to having a friend is too daunting
