Not videogames, but I saw a video essay on an MHA character recently and stupidly clicked it for research purposes because I agreed with the thumbnail. The entire video could be summed up as "This motherfucker never engaged with the series past social media and might have no cognitive function."

Further Update: That recent comm is the last one I can do until the new stylus comes on the 25th. My current one's stroke failure rate is high enough that it's made commission work nearly impossible (I had to struggle through the last part of that). So, let's hope that one works.

Update for everyone: Dell sent me one that didn't have any glue on the PCB or nib remover. Entire thing was defective. Had to spend two days with support and now it's going to take two weeks for them to get me a new one. Meanwhile my old stylus is starting to miss strokes now.

To better apply this to the given example of OP, the exec's idea works on paper in the sense of creating a new inflow from whales who would, for some god forsaken reason, buy campaign mech skins. However, it completely fails to consider the backlash from fans and, ergo, resulting losses.

It's more a fact that they unfortunately do, but only that. Basically, even in the given example, they can crunch and run the numbers, but they don't consider the long-lasting impact from, on, and by people. My last job had the same issue in driving out the old guard while retaining the layabouts.

My old man described it more as a combination of nepotism and academics without experience. Basically, having worked in that transition between executives who built the businesses and the people inheriting it, none of them actually understood beyond theory, if any, on how to run it.
