Online queuing for London Film Festival tickets never fails to be low level anxiety inducing as one waits to see what crumbs have been left by the Patrons.

Finally got to see THE ODYSSEY at the IMAX in Leicester Square. Tickets cost £28 each. People on either side of us looking at their phones intermittently throughout the film. Message ends.

Is the word ‘stories’ the most overused at the moment? Advertisers and anyone keen to sound ‘authentic’ seems to cram it into every other sentence at the moment.

I may sound like an old fucker but I remember when Wimbledon was about being able to watch tennis without a team of commentators talking over each other and some courtside spy listening in and repeating back private conversations between coaches and players. Oh yeah and endless bloody statistics.

Another great BBC ‘news’ headline. The lack of SEND funding has in the past brought many Councils to its knees. The previous administration did nothing apart from some formula tweaking. For 14 years. There is no ‘backlash’ in this story except for the editor’s catastrophising comments. Pathetic.

Call me an old git, but the Fiona and Rachel gloves off moment gave me a glimpse of @thetraitors.bsky.social going a bit Big Brother, which is slightly disappointing. I hope this doesn’t set a trend in the Castle.

I think you definitely needed to be a fan of Pavement to get something out of PAVEMENTS, but even then I’m scratching my head as to how it made a number of critics’ best of ‘25 lists. Didn’t get on with it at all.

Overheard at the theatre while waiting for THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST to start: Punter 1: “Was Oscar Wilde actually a woman who, because of the times, had to write using a woman’s name?” Punter 2: “No, you’re thinking of George Orwell.” No further questions.
