Kaze goes and searches for her with a gift...he asked Gerolt to make a shield that is capable of handling her aetherial shield. The first prototype was made and Isa was extremely hesitant on trying it. After a ton of convincing, she tried it anyway.

She can conjure an aetherial shield but it isn't exactly...safe I guess you could say? She still takes damage but she can dispell it and it does blast damage. Unfortunately, she isn't sure how to control that and she tries not to use her aetherial shield.
