DarinCMU @darincmu.bsky.social · 05/08/2026Woo hoo! “A Trade of Blood” is out today! Gotta love @robertjbennett.bsky.social’s books. If you missed the first two books, you should absolutely add them to your reading list now. 010
DarinCMU @darincmu.bsky.social · 28/05/2026I’m curious. Is it an industry requirement that every behind-the-shoulder action adventure game include “shimmy and squeeze through narrow space” interactions? 000
DarinCMU @darincmu.bsky.social · 13/05/2026What a month for books! Radiant Star by @annleckie.com Platform Decay by @marthawells.com Tapestry of Fate by @shannonchakraborty.bsky.social I suppose that’s a silver lining on getting a new job that will have me commuting again. I would also add Parade of Horribles, but I’m way behind… 000
DarinCMU @darincmu.bsky.social · 04/05/2026Thanks Kindle app, I’ll both read the book in 4 and a half hours and listen to it in 11 hours. 000
DarinCMU @darincmu.bsky.social · 06/03/2026Gotta love that not only do we get Scott Pilgrim EX @tributegames.com as an awesome beat ‘em up, but it also a 4 disc soundtrack by @anamanaguchi.bsky.social. I don’t know how many times I listened to the original soundtrack, but it was a looot. Excited to delve into the new one! 010
DarinCMU @darincmu.bsky.social · 05/03/2026My wife has been watching Bridgeton and whenever Adjoa Andoh is on screen, she always refers to her as my “book lady.” And today, we checked and were excited to see her confirmed for Radiant Star! @annleckie.com 010
DarinCMU @darincmu.bsky.social · 02/03/2026Resident Evil Requiem is awesome. I think they nailed the Grace gameplay. Feels like they took the formula from 7 and really refined the heck out of it. Meanwhile, Leon is Leon. I can only hope he gets a scene as ridiculous as boulder punching. The motorcycle stuff was close, but .. we'll see. 010
DarinCMU @darincmu.bsky.social · 02/03/2026I've been playing around more with Replit, and still astonished at what you can make. I wanted to make a block puzzle game and ended up going a little nuts. Feel free to give this a try and appreciate any feedback! #replit #puzzles chromactic.replit.appchromactic.replit.appChromactic - Optimization GameA strategic block placement and optimization game. 000
DarinCMU @darincmu.bsky.social · 22/02/2026The “Grubhub will eat the fees” commercial during the Olympics is terrible. 010
DarinCMU @darincmu.bsky.social · 18/02/2026I decided to mess around with code generation and it’s absolutely insane what the platforms out there can do. I was able to make a functioning prototype with a single prompt, which is bonkers. Here’s a more fleshed out roguelike version from this morning! mindbridge-rogue.replit.appmindbridge-rogue.replit.appMindBridge - Rogue 100
DarinCMU @darincmu.bsky.social · 04/02/2026From - Season 4 coming April 19th! It’s an amazing show and my wife and I are so pumped! #from 000
DarinCMU @darincmu.bsky.social · 30/01/2026Cairn is an awesome game. I can appreciate some goofball ridiculousness of Baby Steps, but I’m having way more fun with Cairn. I wasn’t sure how the controls would work, but they nailed it. 001
DarinCMU @darincmu.bsky.social · 20/01/2026My wife and I were discussing painful TV show cancellations. I think we agreed these really hurt the most: Raised By Wolves Teenage Bounty Hunters Hannibal My wife also said My So Called Life is the worst cancellation of all. 000
DarinCMU @darincmu.bsky.social · 08/01/2026Apparently, I’m a big fan of LitRPGs now. Azarinth Healer has been a blast to plow through. Book 5 is my first finished book of the year. So… what next? #litrpg I am sadly unable to breeze through Dungeon Crawler Carl because my daughter is listening to the audiobook with me. 120
DarinCMU @darincmu.bsky.social · 02/01/2026This is the moon tonight by me. Very cool halos around it. 000
DarinCMU @darincmu.bsky.social · 01/01/2026Most I’ve ever read in my life. Some amazing books out there - thank you to authors for doing what you do! Big shout out Asunder by @kerstinhall.bsky.social for being my favorite of the year. 271
DarinCMU @darincmu.bsky.social · 08/12/2025I am glad Welcome to Derry exists, but they need significantly better writing. The whole show is just so frustrating and they could be doing so much more with it. 010
DarinCMU @darincmu.bsky.social · 07/12/2025Makes me sad how disappointed I am in Marvel Cosmic Invasion. I was so excited, but when you compare it to something deep like Absolum, it’s such a let down. 010
DarinCMU @darincmu.bsky.social · 09/11/2025@washingtonpost.com Thank you for arbitrarily destroying my Keyword scores just because I hadn’t logged into a profile for 2 years. 000
DarinCMU @darincmu.bsky.social · 08/11/2025Poor Oswald had to get a mass removed above is eye… he’s very unhappy. 000
DarinCMU @darincmu.bsky.social · 31/08/2025Chester being a goofball - gotta love the teeth! #cats 030
DarinCMU @darincmu.bsky.social · 30/08/2025I get people love Metal Gear, but some of this dialog… what the hell? 000
DarinCMU @darincmu.bsky.social · 12/08/2025I’m shocked that we are in a period where we have Aliens AND Predator franchises moving in positive directions again. My excitement for Alien Earth is unreasonably high. 000
DarinCMU @darincmu.bsky.social · 01/08/2025Lego Soundwave with mini Ravage and Laserbeak is a dream come true! #transformers #lego 000
DarinCMU @darincmu.bsky.social · 23/07/2025Finished the Divine Cities trilogy by @robertjbennett.bsky.social and wow. Every book is fantastic in its own right, and a great ending to the series. Highly recommended. 110
DarinCMU @darincmu.bsky.social · 18/07/2025I love Nine Inch Nails, but I’m very curious if their Tron Ares soundtrack will stand up to Tron Legacy. Daft Punk absolutely crushed it. 000
DarinCMU @darincmu.bsky.social · 08/07/2025For those Murderbot fans out there! reactormag.com/read-a-new-m...reactormag.comRead a New Murderbot Story for Free, Right After the Season Finale - ReactorThe new novelette will be released on Reactor immediately following the final episode of AppleTV+’s Murderbot 020
DarinCMU @darincmu.bsky.social · 21/06/2025Apparently I completely missed that our beloved Karlach @samanthabeart.bsky.social voiced Thomasina in Hob’s Barrow @wadjeteyegames.bsky.social prior to BG3. No wonder the voice acting was so good in Hob’s! 130
DarinCMU @darincmu.bsky.social · 14/06/2025Someone posted about the existence of D&D stamps the other day and felt it necessary to order them immediately. #d&d 000
DarinCMU @darincmu.bsky.social · 12/06/2025Currently working my way through @wadjeteyegames.bsky.social’s Old Skies. Not surprisingly, great writing and amazing voice acting as always. Also, I am incredibly thankful Nozzo is smarter than me and gives me useful hints. 1102
DarinCMU @darincmu.bsky.social · 26/05/2025Finally jumped on “The Tainted Cup” train and loved it. @robertjbennett.bsky.social knows how to create interesting characters and really fascinating worlds. Also, excited that the second book has been out, so I don’t have to wait to start it! Though I assume there will be a book 3? 110
DarinCMU @darincmu.bsky.social · 04/05/2025“The Raven’s Scholar” by Antonia Hodgson - easily one of my favorite books to finish this year. Highly reductive to say it’s a blend of Hunger Games and Potter - it’s so much more and you throw in a murder mystery. Read half, listened to half - audiobook narrator was fantastic. #TheRavenScholar 000
DarinCMU @darincmu.bsky.social · 03/05/2025These little ones have grown quite a bit in the past weeks - they’re still hanging out on our front door. Hopefully they’ll fly free soon! 000
DarinCMU @darincmu.bsky.social · 13/04/2025Apparently the birds don’t care that our door decoration is full of fake flowers. We are avoiding using our front door for a bit! 000
DarinCMU @darincmu.bsky.social · 04/04/2025Loved Excavation of Hob’s Barrow from @wadjeteyegames.bsky.social Felt like a solid modern indie horror movie with a creeping slow burn that hit all the right notes. Also, shout out to their game Unavowed! These folks know how to make a good point and click with fabulous voice acting. 0131
DarinCMU @darincmu.bsky.social · 28/03/2025Khazan is fantastic. Parry system actually seems remarkable fair, weapons are fun, and yeah! Good stuff. 000
DarinCMU @darincmu.bsky.social · 27/03/2025Going down the IMDb rabbit hole on The Pitt made my wife and I remember how sad we were when Sweet/Vicious (with Taylor Dearden), Teenage Bounty Hunters, and Raised By Wolves were each cancelled for no good reason. 000
DarinCMU @darincmu.bsky.social · 21/03/2025Back in 2017, @hunterinkoseh.bsky.social drew a cute picture of my daughter (3 years old) and our cat riding a Barioth. Earlier this week, she drew the crew years later - my daughter older, the Barioth, and our cat Clara who is in Felyne heaven. Thank you for the adorable sequel! 041
DarinCMU @darincmu.bsky.social · 21/03/2025If you haven’t watched “The Pitt”, you should change that. You won’t regret it. #ThePitt 000
DarinCMU @darincmu.bsky.social · 14/03/2025I don’t understand why Esad Ribic’s characters always have the same slack jawed mouth agape look. I can’t unsee it. The recent reboot of Eternals was one of the worst, and I’m really struggling with Aliens vs Avengers… it makes me sad. 000
DarinCMU @darincmu.bsky.social · 08/03/2025I don’t think I’ve tried Insect Glaive since MH4 and I can definitely say I am not great at it in MHWilds. But it’s okay… thanks to my trusty Seikret, I can switch to my lovely Hunting Horn and play some sick tunes any time I feel inadequate! #MonsterHunterWilds 010
DarinCMU @darincmu.bsky.social · 02/03/2025Tried Great Western Trail: NZ last night. Absolutely loved it. Deck and empire building, and sheep! Fair warning - manual is woefully inadequate. Organization of content is confusing. Needs a better quick reference for hundreds of symbols. If you love sheep, could be a game for you! #boardgames 160
DarinCMU @darincmu.bsky.social · 27/02/2025Highly recommend “Asunder” by @kerstinhall.bsky.social Fantastic characters, well done world building, and a riveting story - I really hope there’s a sequel at some point! 162
