Like, I think knowing how TLOK was made made me more happy that it simply WAS. Like it's a little miracle, like ATLA was a little miracle at its time

I don't know. I kinda disagree? Maybe it's because I studied and worked in the entertainment/ the cultural sphere, but I think sometimes people need to know how something is made to really understand how it fails or succeed to do what it is supposed to do. I understand it's not a common opinion tho

But even with this, I really don't think that the writting was bad. Except maybe one ore two narratives arcs. Like seasons 3 and 4 are still one of the best things that happened to the Avatar world. And I clearly put them with season 3 of ALTA

Reaching the same writting quality is hard when the network is constantly treating to cancel the show. That's also why I can bare some of the criticism. A lot of people don't want to put the show in its context. It can't have the same quality because the writers where not allowed to write correctly

I have to talk about people who just wanted ATLA 2 and are allergic to change. Like you can not like something, that's fine but hating on it because it's not what you wanted to be will still be weird to me. TLOK was made for a new audience, like Seven Haven is. And I think people need to accept that

It's just that a majority of those people make excuses so they don't see that they are quite misogynistic. So I'm really happy for you if you didn't had to engage with those people but I can tell that they where, and still are, many.

I was there too when the show was released. And you know what ? The show ain't perfect, I totally agree on that but the clear majority of criticism came from misogyny and racism. Like it was WILD. Still to this day fans HATE Korra with a burning passion because she's a woman

Yeah, I totally get that! Without a good lineart, a piece can feel flat or stiff. And playing with it can give so much life and mouvement to a drawing. So yeah what you saying makes perfect sense to me!
