chik white @darcyspidle.bsky.social · 24/09/2026There is now a chik white t-shirt, but I didn’t put my name on it because I’m uncomfortable with the idea of using people as walking billboards. Nevertheless, I’d love you to buy the shirt. chikw.etsy.com 010

chik white @darcyspidle.bsky.social · 16/05/2025Looks like my alphorn drone album is now sold out at the label, so I added the few CDs I have to my bandcamp. I'm proud of this album. Check it out and maybe even order one of these last copies. chikwhite.bandcamp.com/album/wind-w... 030
chik white @darcyspidle.bsky.social · 11/05/2025I had a lovely time presenting my field recording work at Steeple Green last night. For me, listening to nature sounds through quality speakers at high volume is such a moving experience. I hope to present more listening events of this type. Thanks to all of those who came out. 170

chik white @darcyspidle.bsky.social · 16/04/2025Given the precarious nature of online platforms, I’ve decided to try harder to archive my work in physical form. With that goal in mind, I just put together a cassette version of my guitar album - clowning the town. Limited, one-time edition of 41 cassettes. chikwhite.bandcamp.com/album/clowni... 020

chik white @darcyspidle.bsky.social · 15/03/2025Yesterday, I hiked to Bayer Lake in Musquodoboit to listen to the ice melt. Amazing tones. I recorded these sounds at this lake four years ago. I still think it's one of my most dynamic and stereophonic field recordings. Free download: chikwhite.bandcamp.com/album/the-th... #fieldrecording 070

chik white @darcyspidle.bsky.social · 16/12/2024A pair of taxidermy kingfishers I saw at the Museum of Natural History in Halifax yesterday. I see these birds around my neighbourhood from time to time. But they’re quick and elusive. I’ve never been able to record one. 030

chik white @darcyspidle.bsky.social · 11/12/2024For the bird folks: Here's a snippet from a track I recorded a few months back when I spotted a flock of rowdy robins up on a ridge above the shoreline. I hiked up there, set my recording gear down in the scrub, walked away, and let the birds have their moment. 🪶🔊 #birds #fieldrecording 171

chik white @darcyspidle.bsky.social · 06/12/2024I'm seeing lots of Bandcamp Friday posts, so here's mine. I released 4 albums this year: 3 collections of unadulterated ocean field recordings and 1 free improv duo album. Most are pay-what-you-want. If my work resonates with you, your support would mean a lot. ❤️ chikwhite.bandcamp.com 051
