That ⚪️ girl talking about Megan cause she got the idea from some Black man that it’s ok. Stop giving people permission to disrespect your folks

#BlackSky between how Musky, Zucky, and Bezos acting we gonna have to be real easy and careful who we are cool with, how we move, and spend these Black dollars 💵

Trying hard to get to 100 books read by year end. Just finished #AmericanRoyalty by Tracey Livesay. Almost DNF’d but by 40% it got better and turned out to be a good read. Now I need another #BookSky recommendation 📚

Ep2 of #EarthAbides was better than the first ep, but still paced a bit faster than I would have liked. I need a better read on Emma, but some vulnerability built in for her and Ish works. I do like that so far it’s a peaceful kind of earth and humanity centered setup. Does the violence start? Or???

Why did this non-Black lady in this meeting try to just explain to me what she thinks Black folks know about financial literacy? She said that with her chest to a whole Black woman with a straight face. That’s how I know it’s time to call this week done 🫡 #PackItUp

Gotta tell you #BlackSky everyday I'm reminded of why I'm cool on certain people. Cause what am I supposed to do with a feckless coward who lets other folks talk bad about me or mine to YOU, friend, while you say nothing?

010

Dani 💕💚 @danybooski.bsky.social · 02/12/2024

#Wicked and #Glinda specifically resonates with some people in a purely superficial way and glosses over the danger of people like her.People who are your ally until it costs them. People who really just want you to assimilate to fit in with them for their comfort. Your "otherness" rubs them wrong.

000

Dani 💕💚 @danybooski.bsky.social · 02/12/2024

#Wicked wasn't a bad movie, but the folks who need to see the messages and the themes about treating others poorly don't recognize it anyway. Glinda was a villain. the 1st thing she tried to do was give Elphie a makeover. Do you need to be made over if nothing was wrong in the first place?

010

Dani 💕💚 @danybooski.bsky.social · 02/12/2024

We are teaching the next generation that being a part of a group or accepted is important and at 45 years old I learned that it's not. when you free yourself from others' opinions fo you, is when you are free.

020

Dani 💕💚 @danybooski.bsky.social · 02/12/2024

Being #seen actually feels very dangerous and the least important of the themes. When your enemies see you is when you are in the most danger. When Moribelle saw Elphie's power it made her a target for the wizard. to me acceptance from others is never what we should strive for. Accept yourself.

000

Dani 💕💚 @danybooski.bsky.social · 02/12/2024

Indulge me a moment. I have figured out what rubbed me wrong about #Wicked. Chatting up f&f who have seen it & loved it I realized that what rubs me so wrong with it is this thing about being seen. Like Elphie being seen by Glinda and then the cool kids was so important to them. #Acceptance. 🧵

Dani 💕💚 @danybooski.bsky.social · 02/12/2024

I have no problem with this. The sheer amount of fuckery we are about to re-encounter is staggeringly alarming in comparison to this. And truthfully it’s about time Biden flexed on em

000

Dani 💕💚 @danybooski.bsky.social · 02/12/2024

First episode of #EarthAbides is on MGM+ and while I wouldn’t say it’s TWD S1E1 quality, it definitely meets my dystopian sci-fi needs so far. And I am always happy when Black people are a part of sci-fi so…maybe adding this to my weekly TV rotation 🧐

Watching #BuyNow on #Netflix will make you feel awful and complicit in the whole mess. And it probably should 😩. We know it’s calculated and bad but this bad? Oof 😥

Getting rid of #DEI programs is how you know all that humanity this country was pretending at back in 2020 was fake. You can’t change the hearts of people who don’t have one. Don’t ever forget how this country started 😲

For the love of all that’s holy please stop doing this. Don’t trust some influencer on Beyoncé’s internet to help you understand the world and civics because what makes you think they know?? Like what? Just cause you like someone’s takes on comics doesn’t mean they also are an authority on politics
