He faced a difficult choice between a career as a scholar of modernist literature or football.

I don't want to live in a dystopian 1970s movie.

Apparently cats hate ceiling fans.

Honestly, I think the TTO games felt like a bit of a slog before the pitch clock. Now that the games move along faster, it doesn't bother me. Those old 4-hour Boston/NYY games were rough.

One could argue that the problem begins with the Norman Conquest.

Hell, there are writers who thought the Alderson/Wilson Mets were too driven by analytics. You'll never reach that crowd.

I love my 2023 Ioniq 5. As others have mentioned, getting a discounted price on a used vehicle would make sense.

Don't let Marco Rubio do it, either. He's the Secretary of State, and he seems to escape notice for his participation in the Trump administration.

My wife and I absolutely loved an Australian show called Frayed that hardly anyone seems to know.

I should get back to that at some point. As a huge SCTV fan, I was disappointed by the first couple of episodes and never got bacj to it.

Moderates/centrists too often repeat right wing tropes about the left, and many leftists too often say there's no difference between Trump and the moderates. It's a big tent coalition, and we all need to work together.

Yes, it's brilliant. It took me a while for my brain to absorb that the song about chicken wasn't called Chickentown.

I listened to Chickentown just this morning!

Yes. But that's a thing that happens in non-presidential years. Note that the weighting could be wrong in the other direction, too.

100

DanTroy.bsky.social @dantroy.bsky.social · 17/09/2026

I think the more likely miss is that the weighting of the polls (always tricky) will be off relative to the actual electorate.

DanTroy.bsky.social @dantroy.bsky.social · 16/09/2026

Yep. I'm sure the Mets would have been happy to give Alonso a 1-year deal. There are 4 left.

I liked a lot of grunge music (Mudhoney, Nurvana), but the aftermath was disastrous for 90s rock radio.

I think they like Rubio even more and are all primed to portray him as the "break from MAGA/Return to normalcy" candidate as if he weren't the current Secretary of State.
