0-3! Played some very fun back and forth games. My deck was cool but could have used some draw & some removal for larger creatures

Ended up making it to the semis with, you guessed it, another 2-1 Won in 3 against two control decks, UW and UB/esper, but couldn’t get there fast enough vs Dom on Reanimator in the finals. Very fun games overall!

Cube was another “circa 2017” vintage cube & it was hard to remember what cards were better at that time vs which ones weren’t great in my deck I ended up white aggro early, p2p1 lotus and specced into green later. Couldn’t not draft Grafted Wargear after @shoebox.gg

At the end of round 1 I was in 11th place alongside some other heavy hitters inc @glassblowings.bsky.social @ollie.bostoncubeparty.com @broadband.arcavios.dev @deinonychus9.bsky.social & more! Interesting t16; we drafted 2 pods of the same cube with each seat opening the same packs across pods

Sunday I played Shawn (the eventual tournament winner)’s “Frozen in Time Pauper Cube” which IIRC cuts off around 2017 Fine with me because I played a lot of pauper cube around then! First few picks were Llanowar Elves and Blastoderm & i ended up in a removal-light but tempo-y sultai deck w Tortex

Thursday I drafted Eric the TO’s “Parallel Eighth Edition” cube at Dragon Pizza in Somerville and went 2-1 I loved this cube & would be happy to draft it again; it’s got me thinking about building something similar Old-school cubes that aren’t strict about adding newer cards always appeal to me

Didn’t get a deck pic from the wednesday draft @ Capitol Theatre in Arlington but I played the judge Reid’s “Good Fair Magic” cube which was a legacy cube w lots of fixing and no free interaction I ended up in esper control w/ occasional green splash for Deed, went 1-1-1

3-0ed a Mystery Booster 2 draft tonight at Aeronaut with this juicer Noxious Ghoul entered into the @draftpunksmtg.bsky.social hall of fame; at this power level it’s great even without other Zombies. I’ve always enjoyed how it plays in Hoopin even when the secret zombie deck doesn’t come together

3-0ed a Dominaria Remastered draft with, uh, dimir control splash Rith? First decklist / final decklist / card for the @draftpunksmtg.bsky.social Hall of Fame 🏆 Syphon-mage won games & break asunder/duress came in to fight other Icys Format is a little misunderstood but fun IMO

1-2 in @inframaterialist.bsky.social ‘s da cube z0ne this afternoon, always good vibes Had a very aimless pack 1, didn’t see much fixing & lucked into Hogaak early pack 2. Scraped together an OK deck but didn’t play my best Won 2 games by ripping vibrance / k command off the top for lethal 💥

Fun 3-0 6-0 last night in a NEO flashback draft Staked out white/black early w p1p1 Imperial Oath & an early Naomi / Banishing Slash. Got passed Brilliant Resto mid-pack 3 ahead of like 3 other white drafters to my left. Resolved it 3 times & won each time

Inaugural draft of my friend Dan’s Cool Card Cube before he moves to NYC (our loss but Upkeep NYC’s gain) Had to P1P1 Grafted Wargear again; ended up 0-1 into 2-1 with equipment aggro, losing to @broadband.arcavios.dev in the first round who ended up 3-0ing Not sure whether i built this optimally
