also nobody's asking but here's the exact colours i use for stickso's eyes and hair. they're the default yellow and brown colours in paintz, the website i use for most of my pixel art

the face is smaller and more limited to the body than i usually draw it because again, 3d model. when i actually draw stickso i usually make his eyes a little bigger than his head cause he looks sillier and more expressive that way

update on the "cardboard boxes in my room im never gonna use" situation, i bought nintendo labo at a thrift store cause it was less than ten dollars and then swiftly realized the reason it was that cheap is because it didnt come with the game and it was just the cardboard accessories

Danso himself was designed just barely before I learned that for myself, which is why his hair looks like that. I have since cleaned his hair up a bit, so it makes more sense then when i started. it still looks kinda weird, but that's mostly a side effect of my flat artstyle.

one more thing, less of a tip for this scenario and moreso a general art tip, but if you have a style as flat as mine and you're struggling with hair, you're probably thinking about it too hard. you just need a back shape and a front shape that you sandwich the head between, it looks pretty natural.

A 3-panel tutorial on how I draw hair, using Hatsune Miku as reference. "start with the main pieces you need" shows the back of the hair and the head layered on each other, with the front shape seperate. "layer front of hair over head" moves the front piece to cover the top of the head. "add any further pieces you want on whichever layer" adds pigtails, accessories, and an ahoge. i think that's how it's spelled, the little shape on top of the hair. you get it.
