Ok he seems like a douche.
John PerlichJohn Perlich - Director
John serves as Director of Public Affairs at the St. Paul Area Chamber of Commerce, advocating for over 1,200 member businesses. He is also a member of the Minnesota Gun Owners Caucus. He is an experienced, small "c" conservative public affairs professional. He has served in various political and policy capacities for the Wisconsin GOP, the Wisconsin State Senate, and the Committee to Reelect a Republican Senate (CERS). He has ghost-written nationally published pieces for stalwart conservatives that have appeared in the nation's most read political publications, including The Hill. Limited government, personal responsibility, private property rights and the rule of law are at the very core of John's belief system. He always has within reach a Cato Institute pocket edition of the United States Constitution and a book of quotes from Winston Spencer Churchill.

So, who's behind this anti rent control bullshit. My guess it's just the usual suspects--the StP Chamber. Pat probably spun this up for them to get free membership. Just a whole bunch of gross dishonest shit.

Apparently, DPC is an astroturf for hire shell. Another one of their "projects" is "Mass Priorities", which is fighting public internet projects in Massachusetts. A local journalist there got as much detail as they could: theshoestring.org/2026/05/02/d...
Domestic Policy Caucus is a registered 501(c)(4) nonprofit, which means it is not obligated to disclose its funding sources, can raise unlimited money, and can engage in political activity as long as it's not the group's primary purpose.
Based in Minnesota, the group's "initiatives" include Mass Priorities as well as others focused on supporting universal income, removing interest rate caps on consumer loans, and
"Conservatives for National Popular Vote," which does not, in fact, argue for a national popular vote. According to the group's most recent tax filing, its primary expense was over $1 million spent "to educate the public on economic freedom."
On that same document, among the group's highest paid independent contractors are Ainsley Shea, a PR firm that appears to be owned and managed by Domestic Policy Caucus board members and boasts of its work on Mass Priorities web, mail, and door-knocking materials on its website, and Ballot Access Marketing, a consulting firm based in South Dartmouth, Massachusetts, owned by Christopher Thrasher.

Their website doesn't list an address, but their Facebook page says 735 Snelling Ave N, right here in StP! Which, best I can tell, is the 4" space between Black Sea and the auto detailing place next door.

So, who the fuck is the Domestic Policy Caucus? Turns out, they've got an equally vague website built on the same template touting a bizarre list of neocon issues at domesticpolicycaucus.com This absolute toehead is listed as chairman.

Today's events have shown it's time to initiate a recall petition. The city charter describes the process, which seems to be similar to petitioning for a ballot referendum. Who can help get this going? Her's mismanagement needs to end.
Sec. 8.07. - Recall.
Any person holding an elective office, other than an office created by special law, may be removed by recall. The petition shall state at the head of each page a demand for the removal of the officer, the office held, and a brief description of the grounds for recall.
(Ord. No. 17665, § 6, 6-29-89)
Sec. 8.07.1.
If the council finds a recall petition to be sufficient, it shall notify the officer involved and announce the same at its next meeting. Any officer so named may resign within five (5) calendar days after being notified as to the sufficiency of the petition. If the officer does not resign, a recall election shall be held.
(Ord. No. 17665, 3 6, 6-29-89)
Sec. 8.07.2.
Within ten (10) days after the council has found the petition to be sufficient, it shall order a special election to be held within sixty (60) days to determine whether the officer shall be removed.

Thank you for sending in a report of multiple lights out on Snelling Ave near the Minnesota State Fair grounds. The lights that you have reported out are owned and maintained by the City of St. Paul. We have forwarded your report over to them.

On top of that, weeds are overgrowing the sidewalk and there's a pile of dirt on the curbcut at PB. Did you all not know the state fair was happening? It's the largest pedestrian event in the country? Seems like you should have prepared!

Hey @mndot.mn.gov! I just rode from Pierce Butler to Como and back on the first night of the #StateFair. You have FIVE STREETLIGHTS OUT along Snelling, 3 at critical pedestrian crosswalks. This is DEADLY and you need to FIX IT NOW! Here's the first, at the top of the SB PB ramp.
Pierce Butler Ramp and southbound Snelling. This intersection is blind & deadly on a normal day--much more so at night with no light.

The result: Instead of a thriving neighborhood business corridor, Snelling Ave is a car sewer with regular destruction of civic infrastructure. No one feels safe walking along Snelling. Crossing Snelling (which I do daily) is a nightmare.
Bus shelter at Snelling and Taylor destroyed by a car. Car crash at Minnehaha and Snelling. Stop sign knocked down during state fair outside Hamline Elementary.

On top of that, there's no traffic calming between the freeway design of Snelling north of Pierce Butler and the city neighborhood. Cars driving the speed limit where I live are the exception, not the rule.
A traffic sign indicates car speed is 43 mph in a 30 mph zone.

This made me laugh. This is "what it looks like when we make it easier to do business in Saint Paul"? LOL. I had to spend almost 2 years fighting NIMBYs in terrible meetings to fix the zoning on #GrandAve to make this possible. And also: golden shovel photo ops are ridiculously funny. 🙄
Mayor Her posting of facebook: "The intersection of Grand and Victoria will soon be home to a 90-unit mixed-use development and over 13,000 square feet of retail space. This is a fantastic investment in one of our most historic corridors and what it looks like when we make it easier to do business in Saint Paul.
We need development at every level, from deeply affordable and supportive housing to market-rate homes, and we need everyone at the table working together to make it happen." With a pic of 9 people in white hardhats shoveling ceremonial dirt.

Second, Randolph is much more spread out. A lot of it is sandy flood plain, but there's also some hills, rock outcrops, and lots of mature trees. There is no road through it, just sandy trails. Folks are clustered here and there and it's hard to see the full extent of it from any one spot.

First, it's extremely inaccessible. It's surrounded by the river, the swing bridge railroad line, and an extremely steep manmade berm all along Shepard. The eastern entrance is a narrow viaduct under the railroad. The only other access is a steep goat path up to 7th at the far western end.
