It did take a night to configure stuff since its newer hardware, seems that little annoyance is what filters people the most Also bit jelly seeing ppl run self hosted LLMs on macbooks, but unless you travel a lot can just have a dedicated machine do that stuff on your local network

got a macbook air m3 last year with aim to give macOS a genuine effort to see what it's about, it didn't work out tho, felt like a productivity downgrade got myself a newer thinkpad and installed my fav linux distro, now it's running like a dream, best computer I ever had

Been working on a native app to publish world markup to a SQLite worker powered frontend using 3D web components same as I was doing previously in the wp editor. Should be able to self host your own worlds for less than $5/m (maybe even free?)

A 3D world editor with a drawer at the bottom filled with 3d file thumbnails to drag and drop into the viewport

Voxels prices mostly round tripped + many whales freely gave out plots for ppl to build on. Worth noting, Voxels is 100% user funded and still active, while many VC backed projects folded despite it's flaws, it's admirable to see an indie platform lead in experimenting with new tech / biz models 🙂

I agree to many points on a sentimental level, but contributing to open source or efforts for interoperable standards is often a luxury for indie devs. The only place I been able to sustain effective activity, while being anon, is in crypto... sooo yeah
