Are there any games that have explored the ROBOT ALCHEMIC DRIVE concept further? It was a janky game in a whole lot of ways but it was also weirdly super endearing and played with player perspective in a way that I don’t think I’ve seen since. Anyway just random kaiju thoughts on my last day.

Yeah pretty much the only reason is that Japanese law makes it extremely difficult to fire permanent employees, if not for that, Japanese game companies would absolutely have been doing layoffs like everywhere else. Fun fact: the island I’m moving to is the location of the restaurant the one in the movie “The Menu” was based on, which was busted and shut down for multiple labor violations (the chef also apparently bought all their ingredients from Costco instead of organically foraging everything as advertised)
