Not much of an Apple booster, but the AirPods 5 noise cancelling really does drown out the asshole who gets on the Red at Hollywood & Highland and plays sub-Frat party quality covers of Imagine & Wonderwall near daily.

I have always been there for #LiuXueYi in all his hotness, excellent acting and the good or bad scripts. I can’t wait to see him perform with #YangMi in #NorthernWeiDynasty and in a murder mystery. Hot damn!

Created in 1992 by Yuka Taguchi (田口由花), this painting stands as a masterwork of contemporary Nihonga (traditional Japanese-style painting)

Reclined in quiet grace upon a shimmering ground of dusted gold, a sleek black cat gazes with vibrant green eyes toward an overarching vine of brilliant blue morning glories (asagao). The composition masterfully balances the dark, velvety silhouette of the cat with the rich lapis hues of the fully blossomed flower, framed by deep green foliage outlined with fine, golden veins and a single emerging pink bud. The painting exudes an intimate, serene sensory atmosphere: the cool, soft texture of fine silk beneath delicate paws, the faint rustle of garden foliage catching a gentle morning breeze, the dew-drenched freshness of an early dawn bloom, and the quiet, rhythmic purr of a feline resting in watchful solitude.
Taguchi utilizes traditional natural pigments alongside sunago (dusted gold leaf) to construct a luminous background that illuminates the deep black tones of the cat's fur. The painstaking precision in the individual whiskers, fine claws, and intricate leaf venation showcases monozukuri—the unwavering devotion to artisanal mastery and technical discipline.

Is Richard E Grant the sweetest man alive? Yes obviously

Instagram screengrab of Grant on "Celebrity Traitors," where he says "My wife said to me four days before she died: 'Try and find a pocketful of happiness in each day. And I feel like I've got a wheelbarrow full and then some." ADORABLE

Korean film organizations have specifically asked that criticism remain focused on the work rather than becoming personal harassment or threats. As of October 5, 2026, the attempted pressure hasn’t stopped the film from succeeding commercially: it has passed 2 million admissions in South Korea.

The Korea Herald notes that similar questions had appeared in major investigative broadcasts years before The Assassins. And the broader film community has become concerned because the response has moved from criticizing the movie to targeting actors.

Interestingly, the questions raised by the film aren’t entirely invented by the filmmakers. Korean television investigative programs have previously examined unresolved aspects of the shooting, including questions about the number of shots fired and the bullets recovered.

Consequently, suggesting that Park’s own government might somehow have been involved in his wife’s death isn’t merely a revision of an obscure historical detail. It challenges an extremely important part of the conservative historical narrative surrounding the Park family.

His daughter Park Geun-hye was South Korea’s conservative president from 2013–2017, so the political and familial significance of Yuk Young-soo’s death remains unusually strong.

Why is this particular historical subject so politically sensitive? Because Park Chung-hee remains an extremely polarizing figure in South Korea. He was a military dictator who ruled from 1961-1979 but he is also revered by many conservatives as the leader who drove SK’s rapid economic development.

And this has moved beyond criticism of the film itself. There have been campaigns directed at Yoo Hae-jin’s commercial endorsements, and the cast withdrew from several Busan International Film Festival appearances because of safety concerns.

4. Conservative activist groups, like The New Freedom Union and Bellado, are ones going further: demonstrating outside #YooHaejin’ s home, demanding that screenings stop and that the filmmakers apologize. The Hoguk Alliance Shield Corps, has organized protests against the production company.

3. The Yuk Young-soo Memorial Association has likewise demanded that the film stop screening and threatened legal action, arguing that it defames the deceased and distorts the historical record.

2. The Park Chung-hee Presidential Memorial Foundation has demanded an apology and suspension of screenings, arguing that the film falsely implicates Park and the KCIA in Yuk’s assassination.
