Autoblue 2.0 is here, with standard.site support
Autoblue 2.0 is out now! This is a big release, and it brings one of the most exciting additions to Autoblue so far: support for publishing your WordPress posts asstandard.site documents on the AT Protocol. standard.site You can learn more about the standard.site protocol on the official announcement from Bluesky. Making some improvements to Autoblue over the weekend. I've somewhat neglected it (sorry!) but seeing how many still use and like it gives me a lot of encouragement and motivation to keep working on it. Starting with some bug fixes and CPT support. Feature requests are always welcomed!

I've been trying out Laravel for a few apps this year, and it's so good. The DX is great. But WP is my baby and I can't keep myself away from it.

It's so nice how WordPress just keeps shipping great updates. Loads of improvements in the first two months of the year, and full steam ahead on AI as well.

Daniel Post @danielpost.com · 10/03/2026
My main goal: shipping more and shipping faster. Code is no longer the bottleneck it used to be, and while it's a bit scary I'm also enjoying this new reality.

I've been spending time this week next to client projects to building a new super simple time tracker called Tide. Will be launching it soon, aim is to replace Harvest for my personal use.
010
Daniel Post @danielpost.com · 28/02/2026
For context: I've been using Harvest for YEARS, paying for it almost mindlessly. All I really use is time tracking and invoicing, and with the PE acquisition I don't expect it to get any better. I'd also like to add an MCP server, so I can tell my OpenClaw "hey, add 3 hours to project X for task Y"

Weekend project: a minimal Harvest clone with clients, projects and time tracking. I just can't still these days 😂

I haven't been very active on here lately, but I'm planning to change that. I miss having some real interactions on socials. I've been dipping my toes outside of WP and seeing what else is out there, taking my experience from Autoblue and turning it into a social scheduler SaaS.

Everyone is building AI agents right now, and I'm dabbling a bit as well. Is there a clear favorite so far or not really?
010
Daniel Post @danielpost.com · 15/01/2026
I'm playing around with Laravel and it's actually so incredibly well set up for AI-assisted development. There's some really good tools, official packages for almost everything, and with Laravel being extremely idiomatic the AI is really good at implementing it all.

I ran into an issue where my local WordPress installation using Herd wasn't generating thumbnails for PDF files. This is how I fixed it.

Enable WordPress PDF thumbnails for local installations
I’m using Laravel Herd for my local WordPress development, and yesterday I ran into an issue where PDF thumbnails were not being generated in the media library—despite Imagick being installed and active. Trying to generate the thumbnails with WP-CLI surfaced the issue: As it turns out, PHP couldn’t find the Ghostscript command, which is required […]

And here's the result—a polished file upload UI that looks like it came straight from WordPress core. Another step closer to releasing the Document Hub extension for Better Loop. 🤞🏼

Daniel Post @danielpost.com · 29/07/2025
I always always always want my plugins to feel like they belong in WordPress. It's very important to me that they feel like a native extension of WP itself. If that means designing custom icons in the same style for the Document Hub extension, then that's what I'll do 😅

I've added a pretty steep launch discount to Better Loop (almost 40% off!). It' also the lowest price it'll ever be. I want to reward early customers for their support. As a bonus, early customers get to shape future updates with your feedback and ideas. I want to build Better Loop for you!

Neat lil' feature coming to Better Loop 1.1.0: link to post. This makes the entire card clickable, rather than just the post title. It's also quite fun to get to create a custom icon 🫨

You can safely give normal users so much power with the WordPress block editor. @sethrubenstein.info is the lead developer at the Pew Research Center. Check out his demo of how they empower ordinary users to update their site's busy homepage ⬇️

I’ve started writing the docs for Better Loop and it’s surprisingly fun?? Yeah it’s hard but it’s also very rewarding—really cool to see something I made take shape, and it helps me to spot bugs and missing features. First draft will be out in the next few days 🦉

I haven’t yet launched it officially, but Better Loop is now available! I truly think it’ll be a super useful plugin for anyone using the block editor. There’s loads more to come, and I’d love to answer any questions you might have! Also very open to implementing requests whenever possible 🙏🏼

I've been working on Better Loop for the past couple weeks and I'm so excited about it. It's Query block meets instant search, filters, load more/infinite scroll and more query options. It's a plugin I would've liked to use on pretty much all client projects I've done in the past couple years.

Sharing a little tip after reading @bell.bz's post yesterday—try writing a blog post using your voice!

Just post (or talk)
I read a post from Andy yesterday called Just post, which talked about how you don’t need to write a long, detailed blog post every time. You can instead pick low-hanging fruit or just something simple to build up momentum and start writing more detailed, longer posts once you’ve got that momentum going. I wanted […]

I'm so confused by Autoblue's SEO and would love some advice. When searching for "autoblue", autoblue.co pops up as the first result. However, search for something like "bluesky for wordpress" and Autoblue is nowhere to be found, even though a few articles reviewing Autoblue pop up (!) 😵‍💫

I'm building the Autoblue Premium add-on right now. Price will be $5/month, or $50/year. Initially it'll have support for multiple accounts, as well as priority support, and over time more and more premium features will be added (without the price changing).

Automatically build and deploy projects with GitHub Actions

I work almost exclusively on WordPress plugins and themes that use a combination of Composer and Node scripts, and I want to automatically run these scripts […]

@lesley.pizza If I may ask, what kind of issues did you run into with MailerGlue? I’m toying with a similar approach for a project I’m working on. Is deliverability a big issue even when using an external service like SES?

This resonates with me. I have a few products that I would replace with the exact same thing in a heartbeat, and a few software licenses I will always renew because they’re just so good/useful. It’s a noble goal for any product.
