I’m playing through Pokemon Black 2 to unlock the Pokemon transfer lab before Pokemon Bank closes. I was aiming to transfer some mon from my GBA games but I’m feeling conflicted as I play… Do I want them on Switch, or should they stay on their carts with the memories of their adventures preserved?

I really hate that a lot of Pokemon card collectors/resellers call it ‘product’. “I got my hands on loads of Product today!” 🤢 The term completely robs the cards of any joy

Nice pull from the 30th set today!

A Mew special illustration rare Pokemon card from the 30th anniversary set. It appears as though the Mew is floating in front of a tree surrounded by white flowers.

More wild mushroom adventures! These are field mushrooms - super similar to the button mushrooms you find in the supermarket

Had a big birthday, found a lot of mushrooms. A great week!

Pleased I could break this story. I feel like it’s only going to get worse with the 30th anniversary set only a few weeks away

Kid and I have very different design ethoses when it comes to Pokopia. I like rebuilding what’s there and adding flowers, while her only concern is giving everyone toilets

Still one of my favourite games of all time - I know what I’m going to play tonight now!

Behold my first wonky harvest of the year - stubby courgette, six potatoes and an extremely tiny onion.

A collection of potatoes, one tiny red onion and a very squat yellow courgette displayed on a wooden cutting board.

Fully embracing my impending 40th year transformation into a woodland witch by foraging everything and turning it into cordials, pickles and jams

Elderflower flower heads soaking in a large bowl of sugar and water

Wild garlic seeds on a table, some with stems attached while most are in a white bowl of water

I don’t like that my silly little veg growing and foraging hobbies are feeling more and more like necessary life skills these days

My New Year’s resolution this year was to safely identify and forage a mushroom and eat it. I finally got my chance this weekend with this gorgeous St George’s mushroom and oh my word it was the tastiest mushroom I’ve ever eaten!

Finally! I basically spent the last 10 days waiting for ONE Pokemon to get this. I think this is the first time I’ve completed a Pokédex since Red/Blue

…. Oops. The Animal Crossing total is over the course of six years. Pokopia is over five weeks 😅

Total gaming hours on Switch for Pokopia reads ‘over 115 hours or more’. The hours for Animal Crossing: New Horizons reads ‘290 hours or more’

Managed to find a sparkly Lindt bunny for £2.70. I’m never going to top this high

A chocolate bunny covered in sparkling gold foil, being held in front of a glass door.

Breaking news: Kaiju attack in Pokopia

A grey and white cat rolls onto a children’s Pokemon playset. The playset features a cute pretend river, trees and a bridge and small Pokemon figures have been scattered around it by the cat.

More than two nice days in a row means it’s plant buying season and time to pretend I know what I’m doing when it comes to gardening

Still find it mad that I grew up with these games and now this is my view when I play Pokemon

A child’s head from above blocks the view of a Switch 2 screen playing Pokemon Leaf Green.

I’ve really enjoyed 2025. I got to go get on a few trips and did some work I’m really proud of. I also picked up some fun new hobbies and got more involved in my local community. I’m looking forward to more of the same for 2026!

Went to Longleat yesterday and met this sweet little….OH NO

A meerkat with paws together and a gentle expression posing on a log.

The same meerkat turning towards the camera, but caught mid blink so its eyes look horrific.

Kiddo has really gotten into Animal Crossing this year and has her own house on my Island etc… She’s filling it with junk all over the place, but I can live with that. HOWEVER, she cut down my orchard and now I’m struggling to fight the urge to fix it all!

Went to the New Forest at the weekend and now all I want to do is go back and look for even more mushrooms

A a pair of bright red, domed mushrooms growing in moss. Possibly a type called sickener.

A clump of shiny, white mushrooms growing on the side of a mossy tree. A type called porcelain mushrooms.

A classic red mushroom with white spots and a flat top growing among some branches. A fly agaric.

Loads of tiny, yellow and brown mushrooms sprouting out of a moss-covered tree stump. Not sure what type they are.

The cool thing about Magic the Gathering is how it uses the mechanics to tell the story of a card. Final Fantasy is also a series invested in developing a narrative through mechanics. The Spider-Man set is “what if Spider-Man was here”

Played the prerelease for the Spider-Man MTG set and managed to place 10th out of 30. Also got a mythic as my promo card and pulled the amazing meme card from one of my prize packs 🤩

A Magic The Gathering Card called Imposter Syndrome which pictures two Spider-Men pointing at each other like in the meme.

A Magic The Gathering card featuring Anti-Venom, Horrifying Healer. It has an extra 2025 promo stamp on it.

I had a very small part in helping with Artic Awakening - it’s so cool to see my name in the credits! I can’t wait to play it again, it has such an amazing sense of place!
