This is a nonsensical position to have got themselves in. My recollection is that unions had no trouble taking strike action against state-owned British Rail. As you say it’s simply because they’ve touted renationalisation as being the answer to *everything*.

This happens a lot to me, when people send in findings of things I've missed. It is one of the advantages of this being open to anyone to chip in with; many pairs of eyes mean it's more likely that things won't be overlooked.

Big update to stationheritageartefacts.org.uk - six contributors have sent in their findings for 11 new stations with eight more updated! Loads of interesting artefacts recorded, with this extremely rare GWR boundary kerbstone at Dawlish a highlight.

Current DfT position seems to be “We’ve nationalised the railway by mistake”.

So, I think this is right - TfL is setting up a publicly owned bus company (tfl-newsroom.prgloo.com/news/tfl-unv...) but recently awarded the London Overground concession to a private company for eight years, while DfT is transferring train operations to publicly-owned DFTO/GBR.

Big fan of her work too. Surely (and cleverly) an entirely knowing artistic choice rather than “can’t swear”, given that several of her earlier tracks are wonderfully f-bomb-y though?

It is the National Trust's AGM soon. Every year I have to find out what/who is being supported by the extremely tedious Restore Trust organisation. Helpfully, they list their resolutions and candidates for Council here (www.restoretrust.org.uk/agm-2026) for the rest of us to avoid.

In reality I have no idea, but it feels like the kind of thing you'd see in the Netherlands. I don't think it's Arnhem (although that is one photogenic station) but that's the closest I can think of there. That said it's a bit Calatrava-looking... Oriente in Lisbon? Am I even in the right countries?
