With every passing year, I’ve learned that life brings you people you never expect, but who end up shaping your future in the most meaningful ways. Gary, you are that person. You’ve been my steady foundation through some of the most challenging moments of my career in the wild world of politics.

I want to share something very personal. As some of you know, I began my life in foster care and was blessed to be placed in loving hands. Though I was never able to spend time with my birth mother, my journey led me to family members I never knew I had.

The seniors at Madison Palms and Mission Pines hold a truly special place in my heart. Now more than ever — especially during the holiday season — we must recommit ourselves to ensuring facilities like these have the resources necessary to provide our seniors with a dignified retirement.
