but as a child, i remember the minister coming to our home periodically & speaking with my father one-on-one—which would be a great format for such Q&A. for me, no one has ever had all or even some of the answers to my questions. “scripture” was written by, & was/is interpreted by human beings.

i guess it depends on the setting. whenever i am in church, which is close to never, i feel like standing up & questioning the minister or saying, “to me, this really means x rather than the y you’re speaking about.” obviously, such a back & forth is not feasible during a church service.

iirc, Hughes has not jettisoned a young prospect w/o having first gained strong confidence with the internal projection of his most realistic ceiling. (Heineman, perhaps, was the sole exception). Trading any of our better prospects (BP, AZ, DR, JF, MG) would be a departure from that.

i have no animosity towards Hage for taking another year. it’s his prerogative. it should not affect Habs plans for him. he senses he’s not ready to step directly into a 2C role in the NHL. similar to Demidov, that’s the ideal entry scenario for Hage. not AHL. not bottom 6. come ready for 2C or 2W.

i agree proven commodity w/ nice contract speeds things up. like Dobson has. but u must overpay. or Hughes can obtain a less costly (but still effective) 2C & evaluate Hage during his ELC, b4 deciding between Hage or a bigger fish at 2C. not necessarily a stall, but probably a bit longer path.👇

imho, the past, current and future problems of the USA are(/will always be) firmly rooted in the dichotomy between the historical facts versus the historical lies it still insists on telling itself. this is most strikingly illustrated in its adulation of Thomas Jefferson, who is on Mt Rushmore.
