Prinzipiell ganz gut Aber Protektionismus wäre halt sehr schlecht

Was pretty reasonable The PV industry makes basically no money The car industry had 10 more years with 5-6% profits And it's currently bad but I would assume that it's still much more profitable than PV over the next 10-20 years

Deregulierung ist gut (Protektionismus ist schlecht)

They apparently don't want to sell it in China in 2027 20 minutes for 10-80% is probably not that competitive in countries with access to Chinese technology That's leaves the US and not that much else

We are a good example for that A lot of state support for industrial production And that makes the other groups angrier and angrier, because regular households have to pay for the subsidies And it doesn't appease the "workers" who are voting for the AFD
000
Daniel @daniel12345.bsky.social · 2h
But this doesn't work politically Those groups are still willing to vote for right wing extremists And it's bad for everyone who isn't part of the industrial workforce
100
Daniel @daniel12345.bsky.social · 2h
Nope People like Biden or Habeck see that the industrial workforce votes for right wing extremists at an alarming rate And their idea is that you can convince "workers" to vote for democratic parties if you increase the support for industrial production with subsidies and protectionism

Deregulation doesn't penalize innovation (unless you believe that EV innovations are inferior products that can't succeed without the government banning the competition)

Let's hope that the higher court is more reasonable

Hat die CDU nicht 15 Sitze?

Daniel @daniel12345.bsky.social · 06/10/2026

Solar Energy Corporation of India just auctioned 1 GW of renewable power that has to match a coal plant's schedule — checked every 15 minutes, penalties for shortfalls. It cleared at ₹5.25/kWh (~$55/MWh), fixed for 25 years. New comparable coal PPAs opened at ₹5.38-6.30 plus fuel price inflation.

(I'm not from Brazil) I think it's very likely that they get a second round But the right seems to be 3-4% stronger than last time And they only lost the second round last time by 2% So...

www.ssb.no/en/transport... And Oslo tries to improve it's modal split And they obviously had to reduce subsidies eventually But car traffic volume is growing

Parliamentary seat share in the German Bundestag since 1949 Inspired by @economist.com's chart showing how the factions and parties evolved in Israel's Knesset. #ggplot2 📊
A ribbon chart which shows the share of parliamentary seats of political factions in the German Bundestag. Each election year is marked on the vertical axis. Each party's seat share is connect with the next election year. The name of the chancellors are marked at the first legislative term of their time in office.
The chart shows a lot of stability, esp. between 1961 to 1980, with only 3 factions in the Bundestag. The Greens joined in 1983, the PDF/Leftist Party in 1990 after the reunification. The right-wing extremist AfD entered in 2017. Since 2025, the Bundestag consists of 5 factions + 1 MP from the SSW.

Building cars takes obviously less time And higher fleet turnover 10-20% of the population can probably easily be convinced to change their lifestyle by living in a walkable area But if we are talking about 70-80% of the population it's probably much easier to convince them to buy a different car

Daniel @daniel12345.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
I would think it's 10 times easier and faster to convince people to buy an EV

The sheer figure of 20% blows my mind. Experts are probably well aware of that. That seems to be a little higher than the chances for russian soldiers to die within one year on the front. And we talk about scaring them away by depriving them of money or putting them in camps. And people think it's

Isn't this about faith? Do we believe that the UK would be a productive player in the EU Or do we believe that they would join only to obstruct further eu integration 2-3 years later?
