Especially when people argue like that, not with personal reasons, you need to push back, vecause this is arguing I shouldn't have meat either, and if you let that stand, you really may loose any meat to buy eventually.

Here in Switzerland, I already can't buy fireworks anymore easily in the stores that used to carry them once a year. And the people against fireworks weren't even in the majority. You really do have to push back, else you may loose it.

If you are against eating meat, that means you are against people eating meat, and therefore me eating meat, too. So if I like meat, I should be against people not eating meat, else I may loose the ability to eat, because there may no longer be any meat to buy. That should be reason enough.

Since you can't enter virtual space as a physical being, you need to create a physical (IRL) game instead. If you design the game, you can simply give yourself the role of a midgame minibos. That said, that won't make you look like nor give you the capabilities of one.

It's not like furries are required to use this TLDs, or that they can't have multiple TLDs, including on other DNS roots and name resolution systems. It's still neat there is such a TLD though, even if it's just for show.

The dns system is organized in a fundamentally hirarchical fashion, with icann being in controll of it. I wouldn't expect anyone running a tld to get much choice about how to run it, there is a system for registration, takedowns, etc. So I'd view this as no different to any other regular tld. 1/2

Certified. I'd like to use some free software for something, but because it's not certified for use with the thing I want to use it with, I have to use expensive proprietary software instead.

Usually, you can't actually map every address of the 64bit pointer anyway, the usable address space is usually 56bit or 48bit big, so you get a whole byte, sometimes even 2, you can use for other things.

I'm not so sure about that one. Natural language is not a formal logic system. If you were to try to treat it like one, it's axioms would be inherently contradictory, the system inherently inconsistent, you could prove or disprove any statement in it.

Interesting, I didn't know SVGs in background images have that limitation. I just had one more idea, flipping it in a service worker. That still needs js, but is otherwise transparent.

Daniel @daniel.abrecht.li · 31/08/2026
If it's a pure SVG document, you can use developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/W... instead of the css element() function and svg transforms.
000
Daniel @daniel.abrecht.li · 31/08/2026
I can think of ways: 1) Embed an svg using a data url make that embed the image and let the svg do the transform 2) Flip it server side 3) The paint api, although I'm not sure if an image can be passed to the worklet. (needs js) 4) js + canvas + element(#canvasid) (only ff) or URL.createObjectURL()

They've also been the ones forceing the way UEFI and Secure boot works. If they do go bancrupt, it's possible we may end up with PCs that can only run their own android / chrome OS vendor version by default, like on phones.

Yes, that sounds about right.

I indeed messed up there. Should have been '[ade]'. When there is a range of characters, there can quickly be a lot of options, so I think it's better to just return the character range in that case than to expand all the options.

'test.*' -> 'test' 'te(sta|stb|stc)' -> 'test' 'te(sta|stb|stc){2}' -> 'test' 'te(sta|stb|stc)*' -> 'te' 'cat|fox' -> 'cat', 'fox' '(test){0,4}' -> '', 'test' '(test){2,}' -> 'testtest' '(test)+' -> 'test' '[a-z]' -> [a-z] '[^b]' -> [^b] '.' -> [^\n] 'abc|[de]' -> [abd]

Daniel @daniel.abrecht.li · 29/08/2026
I guess there are many ways to design that api, it's hard to put what I want in simple terms. I think it's easiest to just give some examples:
100
Daniel @daniel.abrecht.li · 29/08/2026
For example, for '^aaaa|aabb|bbaa$', for an input 'a', it is completable, and there has to be another 'a' next. for an input 'aa', it is completable, and there is 'aa' or 'bb' next.
120
Daniel @daniel.abrecht.li · 29/08/2026
Something I often miss with regex libraries is a function to check if for incomplete input (like from a user typing), if there still exists valid solutions with more input added or not, and what could be typed next (for stuff like tab completion).

Then you'd need people, somehow have to make other nations acknowledge your nation is a nation, and find ways to keep the people fed, before you can really even start doing anything interesting.
000
Daniel @daniel.abrecht.li · 28/08/2026
You'd first need unclaimed land, since there is none, you'd have to create it. A floating island of sorts may be possible to build. Then you'd need the means to defend it from other nations who may want to claim it for strategic reasons. 1/2

That's one way to solve the issue of keeping everyone fed.

For bigger keys, consider robin hood hashing. If you do it right, you can have all the sets with the same hash / key size be sorted the same way. That should make intersections and stuff pretty fast. My version: github.com/Daniel-Abrec... (Although, I didn't get to implement intersections here yet)

Unsigned integers should be 1 bit smaller than signed, and signed integers should be made ones complement. Then unsigned -> signed never overflows for corresponding int types, the abs(signed) edgecase disappears and is just some bit flips. And make negative number -> unsigned casts assert properly.

No, I man, just consider 1 (sub)domain, there is the A/AAAA records, ptr, CAA, spf, dmarc, dane, sshfp, some for ACME challanges, srv records for every port / service, maybe a bunch for dns-sd, DNSSEC, etc. So let's say ~20 RRs per (sub)domain, that's only like 20 things or so.

Who knows what effect it would have, there is no way to tell. But I'm sure there wouldn't be no effect at all. And no, I don't say they do or don't deserve anything. I say it's their own fault. The world isn't fair.

Well then, should we make the decision for them and safe the children? Wouldn't that actually be eugenics? As you said, we value their opinions. This is nothing I get to decide. Unfortunately, the children are unable to decide at that point, so their parents do. Do you think that is wrong?
000
Daniel @daniel.abrecht.li · 23/07/2026
It's not. Eugenics is about actively controlling and altering who gets to reproduce; but in this case, they take themself out of the equation all on their own, no intervention by anyone else needed, no policies causing it. That's simple evolution.

Daniel @daniel.abrecht.li · 23/07/2026
On the flip side, this is an example of evolution working again, and that without the colatteral damage caused by the unvaccinated people. Kills only their own spawns.

Those should really be PWAs; regular websites with a manifest.json and service worker file so you can "install" it. No special binaries needed.

"Denn wird es zu heiß, schalten sich die Wechselrichter zum Selbstschutz ab" Sind also nicht die Panels das Problem, sondern nur die Wechselrichter. Grösseren Heatsink, etwas belüftung, und das wird schon wieder. Und notfalls kann man auch auf CSP Kraftwerke wechseln.

Maybe try sending it by pidgeon. It's a very fast, very reliable ancient delivery techneque. The pidgen won't fly wrong, it takes the direct air route. The only difficulty is getting a pidgeon from where you want to send the letter to.

It's a new special case that needs to be implemented in servers, proxies and clients. And I think it's really not necessary, GET with query parameters is good enough.
