A very good piece. As a 64 year old I have to say the lack of youth in football grounds has worried me for a few years now. If I was in charge of Palace I'd be actively encouraging youngsters in to join the HF, to grow it, not hinder it, but maybe that's just me.

They overspent for about 50 years, then needed the authorities to come up with new rules to help protect their position on the ladder. They obliged and now they can all be offended by them breaking the rules that protected the status quo. Fuck all the big European teams that overspent for decades.

Think a lot were in the frame today. Wharton's best game, Pino and Kamada excellent. Timber excellent. Back 5/6 very solid and the keeper made a massively important stop. JSL frustrating at times, but didn't let anyone down.

I'm pretty sure the slow start by Ollie in his first full season led to talk of a must win game early on. You have to have plans in case you do have to make a change and those plans will inevitably leak. I hope they give the guy time to get things going, cos things are looking up. IMO. #cpfc

Wharton and Timber are growing with every game and clearly the CB's are starting to feel comfortable within the system. Need to improve in front of goal, but we have many options now. If we keep putting in 7/10 performances we will be mid table easily & able to have a real tilt at the Cups.

Richards actually played well when he was shifted to the middle. Lerma didn't put a foot wrong. Not a big fan so far of Khalaili, but he's replacing a real favourite of mine. Didn't watch the last 4 mins plus injury time, cos I always fear the worst. #cpfc

I agree. It was always gonna take a few games to learn a new system and sadly the pre season couldn't be used for that, cos most of the players were back late from the World Cup. Also, finally bring in a decent DoF, cos this one ain't cutting it.

Find it amusing that so many #cpfc fans want to keep convincing themselves that a 30 year old Muñoz is finished. I mean he made mistakes for us as well, like all players. He's had a very hectic 2 years, but once he's got his rhythm back he'll be flying again. Just my opinion.

I think OG's style will always struggle against the low block unless he gets a really top quality goalscorer. He struggled at home with #cpfc too, but he will be a success at Forest. They have to be patient, cos it takes about 10 games to really start firing.

Good performance tonight til the last 20 mins. Don't like lazy play, cos it becomes a habit & as they say, practice playing badly & you will be very good at playing badly. WB's still a worry. Ty is being run past too easily & Anan getting caught out of position. Plus we allow too many 2v1 situations
