I believe the council therefore can control whether the development goes ahead and hope the ward councillors can persuade the administration to cancel the sale.

In my letter, I've asked them to exert pressure on the Conservative leadership of the council to ask that the land sale is cancelled. The development can only take place if the council concludes the sale of its land to the developer.

I know residents in Barnehurst are concerned about the planning appeal from the developer wishing to build on the former tennis courts in Old Manor Way. I’ve therefore written to the councillors for Barnehurst ward.

A busy day ahead at Labour Party Conference but also a double anniversary for me. 32 years today since I joined the party. 26 years since I was elected as a councillor in a by election which took a lot of work to win, given national events in the preceding weeks. 🌹

I intervened in the debate to highlight my ongoing concerns that this legislation in its current form remained unsafe for people with Learning Disabilities. In the final vote, the majority of my Parliamentary colleagues shared my concerns about the safety of this Bill.

The Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill, often referred to as the Assisted Dying Bill fell at its second reading in Parliament today. I hope all Parliamentarians will now work together to invest in palliative care in this country.

🚍 I raised my concerns with the Secretary of State for Transport about the potential changes proposed by Reform-led Kent County Council that they wish TfL to make to the 96 bus route, which would put services to Darent Valley Hospital and Bluewater Shopping Centre at risk.

There is strong evidence to show that social media is making our children unhappy and unsafe. As the parent of children at secondary school, I welcome the announced ban and welcome that the Government is taking action to better protect our children and young people.
