Platform fighters have platforms. So handing out something like invincibility against aerials would create unintended situations like where someone attacks you from below, it would still whiff. Or other unintended interactions in 4 player matches.

Air invulnerability on an attack like that doesn't work in platform fighters since someone could be attacking from beneath you and you wouldn't want it to dodge. The attack is already super disjointed so doesn't need intangible limbs either. Gotta time your anti air to get the active frames out.
