Finished up these Ryuko Matoi gesture drawings! Wanted to push the energy and attitude in each pose. Still working on cleaning up my lines, but I’m pretty happy with how these turned out. #RyukoMatoi #KillLaKill #GestureDrawing #AnimeArt #Sketchbook #DynamicPoses #ArtPractice #ArtStudy

A blue pencil sketch of Ryuko Matoi in a dynamic crouching pose. One hand is planted on the ground for balance, while the other arm is extended upward as if she's about to strike or defend herself. Her expression is fierce and determined, with her mouth open as if shouting. Her sailor uniform and large boots emphasize her aggressive stance.

Let me know if you'd like me to adjust or expand on any of these!

A blue pencil sketch of Ryuko Matoi lying on her stomach with her legs bent upward and crossed at the ankles. She props her head up with one hand and has a bored or annoyed expression on her face. Her school uniform is slightly rumpled, and her hair falls casually around her face, giving a relaxed but unimpressed vibe.

A blue pencil sketch of Ryuko Matoi standing in a defensive pose. She is leaning slightly back with her arms extended outward, her hands open as if bracing for impact or ready to react. Her hair is mid-length and slightly messy, and she's wearing her signature sailor uniform with a pleated skirt and chunky shoes. Her expression is tense and alert.

Art tip: if you have a hard time finding references or just making something up. Use an Action figure. Preferably one with good articulation. #arttip #sketchbook #spiderman

Drew John Wick because, let’s be real, these are some of the best action movies ever made. Had a blast playing with the red and neon lighting to capture that intense vibe. What’s your favorite scene from the series? #JohnWick #FanArt #ActionMovies #NeoNoir #SketchbookArt #HandDrawn

This was a gift for a friend of mine this Holiday season. My take on the Wicked cover! Never actually seen the musical, but the original poster art is such an insane piece of graphic design, I had to give it a shot in my style. #WickedArt #FanArt #MusicalArt #SketchbookArt #HandDrawn #Illustration

Had to draw this iconic moment from Empire Strikes Back. One of the greatest scenes in film history – the clash of Luke and Vader. Tried to play with the lighting and silhouettes to keep that cinematic vibe alive. #StarWarsArt #EmpireStrikesBack #FanArt #SithVsJedi

Did a study inspired by some old Ocarina of Time concept art. Had to capture that moment when Link pulls the Master Sword – such a classic. Played around with the colors to keep the vibe alive. What's your favorite Zelda game or moment? #ZeldaArt #OcarinaOfTime #FanArt #RetroGaming #artstudy

Sum 41 has been my comfort band through a lot of rough times, and 2024 has been no exception. Back when I first moved away from home, and even now, their music has been a constant. I recently read Deryck Whibley's autobiography,
