Sketchbook planning and the full sized sketch! Such a fan of sketching in colour bc it feels less scary.

A page of composition exploration sketches in purple, and item study sketches in red.

Final piece sketch done in pale blue, the stuffed frog is absent from the shelf, the flip phone absent from the desk.

Creature studies of the Ritual, bonus chance to practice fire.

Two screenshot repaints from The Ritual 2017.
1. a strange, antlered ungulate silhouetted by the fire of a burning structure.
2. The same creature front on, it is rearing up and raising human arms in a prayer motion. It is in a dense forest, backlit by the fire and the first light of dawn.

Two blue lead sketches of the creature from The Ritual 2017, one holding up a limp body, one turning to face the viewer so its hollow face and beady eyes are visible.

//non-sexual nudity and blood You Weren't Meant to be Human by Andrew Joseph White got in my head so thoroughly after I read it god damn

Black and white drawing of two figures sat in a bathtub, facing each other. One is leaning back with a vertical cut at the base of his abdomen, while the other is reaching towards the cut.

Black and white drawing of a pregnant figure backlit in a doorway, he is nude with blood running down his thighs and around his mouth. He is gripping a hammer with blood dripping off the claw.

Princess Caroline, a really special commission for a friend 💛 #dandythistleart

Colour drawing of a calico cat sitting on a tiled windowsill, looking at the viewer with a mischievous expression. She is lit from behind to look like she's glowing in the sun.

Three sketches in red pencil of the same cat. One in the same pose as the final, one from behind of her looking over her shoulder with mad aeroplane ears, the last of her laying down with her front paws tucked in and back legs stretched out.

Body horror warning! No gore but fungal overgrowth 🍄 #funguary week 3 Immortal! Big fun with texture for this one. Main fruiting bodies inspired by Scytinotus longinquus, chest cavity fungus inspired by anthracophyllum archeri #dandythistleart

Painting of a person overridden with fungal growth. They reach towards the viewer, green-grey skin, long white mycelium hair and a piercing white gaze. Below the collar bones their ribcage and heart are exposed; yellow and purple fungal caps replace their lungs, where the abdomen belongs there is a reddish, glossy cluster of mushrooms which overflows into the foreground and background of the piece.

#funguary week 2 is fairytale! I liked the idea of a tree stump inhabited by something and the bracket fungi functioning like a little staircase or something. #dandythistleart

A painting of a tree stump, with orange bracket fungus forming a loose staircase around the outside and cracks in the base of the stump emitting light. Behind the stump is some lush foliage while to the side and in front is grass and clover with white flowers.

So I spent the last couple months working on a needle felt hornet, her cloak and needle. took her out for some photos last week :3 #dandythistleart #hollowknight #silksong

Needle felt hornet from Hollow Knight, her cloak is red fabric with red and dark brown embroidered details. Hornet is standing in some ferns facing the camera.

The felted Hornet is standing on some leaf litter facing past the camera and crouched forward, a sculpted version of her needle is peaking out underneath her cloak as if she's holding it ready to strike.

The felted Hornet is posed to look like she's walking, through a green and rocky area. She's front on and looking off to the left, her needle is peaking out behind her as if holstered on her back.

The felted Hornet is side on and posed as if she's jumping or being propelled upwards, her head is tilted back to see where she's going and her needle appears to be holstered on her back.
In the background is a grevillea tree out of focus and a clear blue sky.

Amazing news I got it scanned and adjusted, propper post eventually. cursor is pointing to the exact spot I colour picked..

Photo taken of a laptop screen, showing an art program. a menu on the left shows brush settings and a colour picker wheel. On the right a zoom in of a painting: impressionist foliage which appears to be dark, muted green and purple.

The cursor points to a pale yellow-olive green: the colour picker shows a very dark, desaturated red-brown.

Photo of a painted sketchbook page in warm lighting. The page has four busts of varying skin tones and hairstyles, all with stern expressions. There is also a hand reaching up, relaxed, with a dark skin tone. Paint swatches are along the top edge of the page and the bottom left, the paper has buckled from the water in the paint.

It was funny trying to get as much glare as I could so I could best see how effective the filter is. 1- no filter 2- polarized filter 3- polarized filter, diffused lighting, slight tone correction

Another angled photo of the same sketch, the overall photo is a little bit darker and the sketch is easier to make out, however it is still quite low contrast.

Front on photo of the same sketch, it is much clearer.

Some relaxing trans guy sketches from tonight 💕 I need to do more, they were so fun to draw

Photo of a sketchbook page, showing four coloured sketches of nude trans men, a red undersketch and graphite refined sketch is visible on all four.
1. Top left, a full body sketch of a man sitting front-on, grinning and blushing. One hand is in the front of his hair, the other is over his chest which has double mastectomy scars. He has dark brown hair and pale peachy skin
2. Top right. A standing man from behind, one hand by his side and one running through the top of his hair. He has very pale skin and dark, cool toned hair.
3. Bottom left. A man sat at a 3/4 angle facing the middle of the page, his arms are relaxed and he has a relaxed downward gaze. He has warm-toned pale skin and black hair. He has not had top surgery.
4. Bottom right. A man standing from the thighs up, facing forward with one hand on his hip and the other relaxed and resting on the top of his leg. He is looking down and away with a neutral expression with long, light brown hair and double mastectomy pedicle scars

Art purchases arrived this week! 💕 Print, sticker and zine from @graysinning.bsky.social and shirt from @mxmorgan.bsky.social thank you both, they're so gorgeous. Hoping to fill up the wall above my desk with art prints so I'm waiting to get paid so I can order a few more.

Top down photo of an art print, sticker, and mini zine on a desk.
The art print shows an older, chubby transmasc figure with wings basking in some golden light while nude. His head is back with his Hands on his decolletage and the chin of his white beard, he has short cropped white hair and dark, pointed nails.

The sticker is a grey scale, front-on head of a person, sticking out their tongue to show a bee with pops of yellow honey dripping from their eyes and tongue.

The cover of the mini-zine is grey scale and reads "BAD DOG, G.A.HART, 18+" in the top left. The rest of the cover is taken up by a bust shot of a masc character; showing the right side of his face, shoulder and chest. He has a serious look, is wearing a spiked collar and well-worn white singlet.

Selfie photo of a white masc person sitting, he has short, curly, orange-brown hair and is wearing a cool-toned grey t-shirt printed with art of a deer shedding it's velvet, showing bright red antlers underneath

Finally posting here, a Bulborb I made in December for my sister's Christmas gift! Made with a wire skeleton so the eye stalks, mouth and legs are all posable. I'm really proud of how it came out, the size and proportions are roughly accurate to game size. #art #pikmin #nintendo

Photo of a felted bulborb from the Pikmin games, on a patch of lawn. It's mouth is open and it's looking at a yellow Pikmin drawn in digitally. The yellow Pikmin is looking up at the bulborb while a blue Pikmin cowers behind it and a red Pikmin is running away.

A photo of the same felted bulborb from behind, it's sitting down in the grass. Drawn in digitally is olimar and a line of Pikmin walking along a piece of bark outside of the Bulborbs line of site.

I'm an Australian traditional artist, I really love figures and florals! 🌻 More than anything I work in graphite in my sketchbook, but most of what I post in the last few years has been gouache finished with coloured pencil. I also like to pick up other crafts and mediums to learn something new! ✨
