we’re in glasgow again early (ish) next year. will be a brief visit this time as we’re off to the highlands (again. love em)

back when i lived in norwich there was a brief moment when lots of my mums friends all seemed to be moving there. back then it did remind me of nodge only bigger with more hills. personally i don’t think there’s the case now

love glasgow and visit regularly. have slight envy you have lived there - would love to have that experience! hopefully they still sell their yummy scotch pies too. as and when you do go please let me know your thoughts.

bristol is fab, as i’m sure you know, liz. have a lot of love for the place. slightly annoyingly almost as expensive as london (property) but cracking food, art and music scene make up for it. with nodge city being so lacklustre and frustrating think you’ll be in the right place for a sat afternoon

because of you is a lovely song. i have 45s of white horses, dr who, hawaii 5-0 to name but 3. perhaps tv themes could be one of the categories for the monthly music challenges?

dandyhighburyman.bsky.social @dandyhighburyman.bsky.social · 23h

fantastic! thank you. john showed us the ‘secret’ smoking area as part of our tour. he didn’t mention the 45’s tho - i’d have been all over that if i’d known. the warmth the article mentions we picked up on but also a sense of pride to regulars both current and those that had, well, died. great pub

it’s used a lot for photo shoots and such like as it’s a looker so not surprised it’s featured already. the song is lovely btw. well, i think so

attached are some of the images taken of the laurieston. cannot stress enough what a nice man john is. we’d never met before but he really looked after us and took a real interest as to why we were there. as the sign in the pub says the laurieston is “more than just a pub”

thanks YCCMA and agree. as a young teenager i could do a very passable kev singing voice. the needle on this record pretty much carved holes in the grooves i played it so often

020 0

dandyhighburyman.bsky.social @dandyhighburyman.bsky.social · 14/10/2026

sara took a few games before becoming a footballing don. toure replaced sarg. traitor was inconsistent and imho pelle is an improvement. we do not have a direct rowe replacement. that’s why i’m not arguing against your wider point; results strongly suggest squad as a whole is poorer

000 0

dandyhighburyman.bsky.social @dandyhighburyman.bsky.social · 14/10/2026

well there is a typo in the post so can perhaps see why you might think that. that said “first dibs for dobs” deserved more love imho. re payment that would seem to be the case

110 0

dandyhighburyman.bsky.social @dandyhighburyman.bsky.social · 14/10/2026

agreed although they were nice and near robins if required

110 0

dandyhighburyman.bsky.social @dandyhighburyman.bsky.social · 14/10/2026

don’t disagree but rowe, sarg and traitor are not totally on him; they shafted everyone. whereas sara showed how it should be done and left with credit (literally) in the bank. off the top of my head toure, pelle, paris, makama are good signings. but yes, others been poor. BK and PC both own that

without toure we’re beginning to look a tad bewildered. without him we lack pace and power. makama should be 2nd in line but he’s way off last seasons form. kvist’s a round plug in a square hole and should be 3rd choice. obvs we have many other issues but confidence radiates from the front #ncfc
