wooden bird family, basswood turned on a lathe and hand-finished #craft #woodworking #woodcarving #birds

five wooden bird sculptures: four of them are egg-shaped and smaller, one is teardrop shaped and larger. The largest one has a orange painted head, the smaller ones have the top halves of the egg shape painted either red, yellow, or blue. The beaks of the birds are made with wooden dowels shaped to a pointed tip. The larger teardrop shaped bird with the orange head has a similar beak, and also two legs allowing it to stand upright. These legs are made out of the same dowel material as the beak. The large bird sits in the middle of the composition, while the smaller birds are positioned to it's left and right.
