The grid i 3d printed, in blender i recreated the grid seen in the slicer software so i could have a visual scale IRL for things i want to make. Like this broken peace from a window blind cord. I still need to learn CAD sftw and don't yet trust only my measurements. I don't know if its dumb or not.

Few weeks ago I bought a 3D printer, A1 mini. Its pretty small but i figured its fairly affordable to figure out if its something i'll find more uses long term for. Then i can sell and upgrade if i need to. Printed a bunch of test stuff and im really liking the experience so far.

My old 3rd monitor has been acting up lately, sometimes it will turn on and turn off immediately and only turn on again after half an hour, or it will look very dim at the start. I was hoping it was the capacitors aging, but none of them looked bulged or suspicious. Still hoping new ones will fix it

Can tell he liked drawing nature, the trees, bushes have very natural and convincing shapes. I liked the examples you picked, in increasing level of complexity on the tree trunks in each image, showing his range. Old artists we're built different, i loved the same thing about Frazettas art.

Been busy with more urgent drawings, but wanted to post something. I really like these, started as just halfhearted 'back' doodles, but i realised i feel fondness for the "partially in the water" theme. Think it may come from photography, paintings and spending my childhood near rivers. #pikansso

I love getting hyper specific bugs, it gives me a murphys law type 'of course something has to be wrong' chuckle. Newest one. On Cachy, Wayland specific, if you run Blender with Vulcan as your Display Graphics backend in the settings, the whole app is like 15% darker. If you use OpenGL its normal.

Das Boot blockout. I had no plans going further than this, but i'll see, theres some fun things you can do trying to flesh it out. I cheated here and made the railing like 2-3 times taller to fit human height, unless the original railing was meant for sakanakama height.

Has been a long while since winter this nice! This is close to a halfway across completely frozen up river, the ice was like 10cm thick where i could see, but didn't want to test my luck too much, so i turned around. Also 2 large foxes ran across my skiing path in front of me 🦊😗

Practice. Making an old sketch more interesting, like an illustration. I guess i could call the default one 'exploration' for an idea, to justify its lack of anything interesting, but its usually my default 'don't want to strain my brain' drawing habit, minimal perspective or complicated angles.

I like how its turning out so far. One thing i learned is Gyarus tend to do the upside down peace sign, palm up, but as these things go, redraw 1 thing and rest of the image starts falling apart- the silhouette gets weaker, but if i move the hand, then the arm needs to move etc and its a big pain ☺️🔫

Added a skin toggle to this creepy doll. Also can control it's transparency using separate material. No rigging here so far, just manually placed origin points where they should pivot.

Small experiment. Not exactly what i want? Not sure what i want yet. But it dawned on me where this desire might have come from -the wonderful Arne AndroidArts, his projects have left some marks on me since long long time ago, he makes it look so easy but prob. just because of his steady work ethic.

randomDooble. I always liked the look of a visible initial sketch below new/darker lines. Leaving it in you can show more soft volume without actually going into shading, something that's hard to do with sharp linework alone(w/o hatching).

Was cleaning the lens and jammed the zoom mechanism. Blessed be the lone warriors with a 480p webcams who dare to press record, showing step by step how they fixed one particular make and model item with a particular problem and share it with the rest of the world on youtube. Fixing things is fun.

This small proportion doodles from the last post led me to spontaneously make a simple poseable doll in blender. Seeing the legs pivot where the bone joints really are made some things click why the legs move the way they do, why the pelvis and femur bones are shaped the way they are 🤔

More sketches. Getting kind of bored with naked figures, and it's still a struggle to get anatomy right. You have to draw whats under the clothes correct first for the clothes to sit right on top, so its hard to move on. 😩 Mindless sketching is inefective though, and this is what it is. Not a study.
