Great episode! Missed you guys by a week unfortunately, would have loved to go to the meetup. Also, did @tolkoto.com see the new Scrooge hoodie that just dropped at WDW? Feels like a must.

Could not have predicted this timeline where you ended up seemingly hotter on Wolverine than Resonant and Townfall, but I love the chaos.

This quote was all I could thing about when I finally watched the last season of Stranger Things recently. Every scene is plot. Every other scene is a character using some device to explain the plot to another person. They finally use the last hour of the show to do character work and it’s great!

I love this series so much that I bought the Japanese only box set that DOES NOT have English subtitles. But dang it I just wanted it on my shelf

Devil’s Advocate, but as someone who collects retro games, lots of serious collectors would be happy to have a limited special edition console, even if they aren’t going to actually use it! I don’t collect consoles, but a lot of people do and many keep them sealed.

Just finished Saros last week and I pretended it was Midnight Mass 2. Did not work at all narratively or logically, obviously, but I just think Rahul is neat.

One of the only reasons to have a child is to give them some cool name you’d want yourself. Why blow it with the same dumb name you’ve lived with your whole life. Unforced error.

Unfortunately, I’m guessing they also didn’t miss with Star Wars, and we’ll never get to know for sure (I say this as someone who likes the final product that Solo ended up being!).

I have the Clone Wars ROTS edit on disc, though it’s on a smaller size disc so the quality is kind of rough. Also have a version of Fire Walk with Me with the Missing Pieces edited back in, which is amazing.

Yeah, it’s super well done too. Works shockingly well. I’ve seen MOD discs going around of it before, though I don’t personally have it.

If I could give a recommendation: Flight 180, which edits Final Destination into an X-Files episode (as it was originally intended before it became a film). Really creative stuff! www.plboucherdesigns.com/x-files-flig...

In the age of great fan edits and lots of major releases not getting physical releases, I am a big fan of MOD stuff. I have a pretty decent collection of that sort of stuff, bless the folks who do it. This looks rad.

1000%, so much about picking a game to play is finding the right game in the right moment. You can play a 10/10 that doesn’t resonate at all, but a 6/10 can feel perfect if you play it at the right time. A good gaming life consists of knowing when to play the right card when it fits best.

Truly believe that if Myers had gone down the Robin Williams path, he’d at the very least have an Oscar nomination by this point.

By the mere inclusion of Varang, it’s best Avatar by a country mile. Play that new Frontiers of Pandora DLC, it’s amazing, basically an improved version of the original game in every way (plus the 3rd Person mode is amazing).

And also, to be clear, the article itself, which is great, doesn’t present things as such. But I guess the title worked in that it made me read the article faster than I may have normally!

000

danbruner.bsky.social @danbruner.bsky.social · 22/10/2025

Yeah, I was kind of surprised by the title as well. It feels like something that you’d see if the game it was referring to was not well received, not the best reviewed game of the year. I suppose it’s there to be emphatic about just how great the book is, but definitely unusual!

010

This one took me quite a few tries, mainly due to the visual noise, but it was one of the most distinctive “I’m getting better each attempt” bosses I’ve ever experienced in any game. First couple attempts, I died in 2 seconds. By the end, barely got hit by anything.
