Daniel Blythe @danblythewriter.bsky.social · 09/10/2026Saying Trumpington has been 'snubbed' for the Nobel Peace Prize is like me saying I've been 'snubbed' for the Ballon D'Or 😆😆 I've cut his ghastly face off the image because I can't bear to look at it. 010 0
Daniel Blythe @danblythewriter.bsky.social · 06/10/2026Yes, I know. I followed all the shenanigans at the time. I was a Lurker! It was the first series I can recall following on the Internet. Even if it was dial-up! 010 0
Daniel Blythe @danblythewriter.bsky.social · 06/10/2026I kept being worried the telepaths' 2262 equivalent of L'Oreal Elnett Extra Hold on their hair would go up with a *whoomph* with all those candles around. 010 0
Daniel Blythe @danblythewriter.bsky.social · 06/10/2026From what I recall, it gets a bit better after all the endless Michael Bolton telepath stuff with their bloody candles and bloody singing is all dealt with, and we get into the Drakh mystery... I've not seen any of it since the 90s though. 110 0
Daniel Blythe @danblythewriter.bsky.social · 06/10/2026It's interesting how all the stuff about souls and rebirth in Seasons 1 and 2 seems to prefigure this though! It was all there in JMS's head at some point, I guess. 020 0
Daniel Blythe @danblythewriter.bsky.social · 06/10/2026I remember his comment about describing the final scene to execs and them looking at him like he'd sprouted two heads. Ended up as the final scene of 'War Without End', didn't it? 120 0
Daniel Blythe @danblythewriter.bsky.social · 05/10/2026Oh indeed, I know all the background. You can see the compression in the last 4 eps of S4 when he was using the arc up! A few scenes where you think 'that was an episode' (Garibaldi searching for Lise, the squad marching on Clark's office, etc.). 260 0
Daniel Blythe @danblythewriter.bsky.social · 05/10/2026'Babylon 5' tried my patience in Season 5 to the point where I almost couldn't bear to watch any more. It did have a little uptick towards the end, but I'm currently rewatching selected episodes, I'm halfway through Season 3, and I think I'll probably miss out pretty much all of Season 5 altogether. 8121 0
Daniel Blythe @danblythewriter.bsky.social · 01/10/2026There hasn't been a Chronicles for ages... was the last one 1984 in Feb? I would have expected another this year. Maybe not. There's a 1966 provisional cover floating around, but it never materialised... 100 0

Daniel Blythe @danblythewriter.bsky.social · 28/09/2026I'd literally never in my life heard that song by Sam Fender and Olivia somebody which was at No.1 for about six months, until I was intrigued enough to go and listen to it because it had been No.1 for about six months. Whereas even my mum had heard 'Everything I Do' in 1991. 110 0

Daniel Blythe @danblythewriter.bsky.social · 20/09/2026Every 'suggestion' in the comments under any article about the 'Doctor Who' tender process is an ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE idea which no sane production company should ever follow (or wouldn't even be able to even if they wanted to), made by lunatics with no concept of how TV works in the real world. 062 0

Daniel Blythe @danblythewriter.bsky.social · 18/09/2026I've often found myself wondering what it would sound like without the drum sample from 'Give it Up' by the Good Men! Would be a very simple mid-tempo song. 230 0

Daniel Blythe @danblythewriter.bsky.social · 10/09/2026Quite funny the way the photo makes the Reform baldie on the right, with a blonde woman sitting behind him, look as if he has an attempt at a Legolas haircut, or Brian Eno in the prime of his 1970s flowing-versus-receding struggle. 100 0

Daniel Blythe @danblythewriter.bsky.social · 07/08/2026Why do so many people insist on replicating the aberrant apostrophe in Liverpool John Moores? I only saw this error for the first time about a week ago, for obvious reasons, and I swear over half-a-dozen people have made the same mistake since, even in print. Stop it! 000 0
Daniel Blythe @danblythewriter.bsky.social · 06/08/2026Conversely, I always found it odd that there *wasn't* a novelisation of this... it would seem to lend itself naturally to one. Five years earlier and there might have been one. 000 0
