Thrilled to share our latest work, just published in Redox Biology! We show that Cdc48 functions as a redox-sensitive thiol switch regulating proteostasis during stationary phase in yeast.

Cdc48 plays a crucial role in redox homeostasis through dynamic reshaping of its interactome during early stationary phase
Most microbial cells on earth predominantly exist in non-proliferating, dormant conditions, such as the stationary state. The stationary phase is a cr…

Thiol-based redox switches: From chemistry to physiology and pathology
Redox reactions have been essential for the emergence of life on Earth, and diverse strategies have evolved for responding to various cellular redox species. These mechanisms are still of vital impor…

We're back for 2025! This week we welcome Adam Klosin and Randal Halfmann for the first IDPSeminar of Season 17!
Poster for Adam Klosin and Randal Halfmann's IDPSeminars talks. Adam's (from the Nencki Institute of Experimental Biology of the Polish Academy of Sciences) talk is titled "Organization of stress response in the nuclei of developing C. elegans embryos", while Randal's (from the Stowers Insitute) talk is titled "Sequence-structure relationships of amyloid kinetics in cells".

WOW!!! Beautiful new Nature paper from Burkart Lab UCSD reveals how non-ribosomal peptide natural product synthetases work together. They use tetrazine click chemistry to capture these huge protein complexes mid-reaction. 3 different snapshots show different states. www.nature.com/articles/s41...
