As a physician-scientist, I find this unethical. A CDC-funded RCT in a country with a *high hepatitis B burden* will delay WHO-recommended birth vaccination for some newborns «to study morbidity, mortality and long-term outcomes». U.S. taxpayers are paying 1,6 mil for this. 🧪

Inspired after the International Childhood Cancer Consortium meeting and visit to the National Cancer Center in Seoul. Childhood cancer cases are rare, but research with pooled consortia data shows what’s possible when we think globally, share data, and a vision to prevent cancer before it begins.
