Sebastian (greyhound) and Simone (beagle) alternately sleeping and plotting. :)

Red fawn greyhound curled up on a pile of loveys in his 10yo human sister’s room. His chin is resting on the paw of the giant Costco bear, affectionately named Sweetbear when sissy was a toddler.

These two doofuses like to snuggle together SOMETIMES and they also look like they are plotting against us and are worried we’re onto them. WE ARE.

This dumb frame is one of my absolute favorites, and it was prominently displayed on our hallway when I was a sophomore or junior in college. A friend had a Far Side page-a-day calendar, and this was the absolute keeper. The title was a repeated phrase throughout the rest of college. 😂

Sebastian and Simone haven’t had any treats, walks, and food in at least six full months OR SO THEY WOULD HAVE US BELIEVE. Also they are not in cahoots and have no idea why anyone would think that!!

My 10yo and I had a hard time getting moving today, after our customary “20 more minutes to chill before actually getting moving” time had a soundtrack of rain on the skylight and dog snoring, and the warmth of a king bed with blankets, a greyhound, and a beagle. May you have that same calm. 💜

In case anyone needs a solid fortune that seems to be a can’t-miss, Bazooka Joe has you covered. I was telling 10yo about this the other night, and I remember this fortune as if I were her age again.

10yo & I travel from our home in VA to my hometown on the CT coast every summer, and we have an awesome & relaxing visit with my mom. We take the train (yay Amtrak!) & enjoy swimming in Long Island Sound - this year we went to the beach almost every day. 3 generations together 💜

Oh, good deal! Mine wasn’t showing that appointments were booked (so no openings) but that overall they aren’t available yet. Looks like it might be a state issue - didn’t work on CVS’ site using my VA zip code nor my sister’s in NC, but my mom’s in CT was showing appointment times.

Petition to not be allowed to send out email that says “item has shipped” but then it’s actually just “pre-shipment” because a label has been created but nothing else is happening! (Very not important in the grand scheme of things - just a weird frustration!)

Thank you ❤️ It was a sad & strange experience (as blood tests from the start were not encouraging) and I was so grateful that Maxie was there through it all. My husband was grieving too, so Max held us both up a lot. He was one of a kind and time with him was too short (lymphoma 😔) but wonderful.

One of our last pics of Max, a treeing walker coonhound. In this pic he was lying on the floor outside of the room where our infant daughter was sleeping. He is looking at the camera with his beautiful brown eyes and he has a white stripe down his caramel brown forehead.

Though my husband read a post today saying that the only celebration someone would do would be to visit his veteran father’s grave today, to which I replied that we don’t have to do that bc my veteran dad is always with us :)

What athlete’s expression will stay with you the rest of your life? Simone did it. She defied the odds in Paris and overcame so much to get there. This was from the qualification round, and seeing her compete at the Olympics was unforgettable.

This little nugget is Marion, named for the place where she found my BIL while he was doing trail maintenance in SW Virginia. She has a wound on her tail from where (it looks like) someone docked it. 😔 She’s safe with her pittie sister who pouts a little but I think secretly loves little sis. ❤️

Still unnamed as of now, but settling in! She looks so teeny compared to her pittie sister Alice (who is about 60lb but has that pit blockhead 😂). Probably never been in a house before so getting used to squishy blankets and extra love. ♥️

This sweet girl has just hit the family jackpot by finding my BIL out on a trail in SW VA. He’s there for a hiking/trail maintenance trip, and she has found him a few time. Clipped tail, wound under it, in need of TLC. My sister is home prepping their dog for her new sister. 💜

We have a very tall greyhound, and when he was at dog daycare/boarding once, I was delighted to check the livestream and see that he looked like a peanut next to what I can only assume was a deer- or wolfhound. 😂 Excellent moves, Mortimer 🥰
