I recently opensourced my #database GUI Peek over at getpeek.dev (code at github.com/getpeek/peek). If you regularly use #postgres #mysql #duckdb or similar to dig into data or do #dataviz i'd live for you to download it and give it a try. It's free and open source!

I'm building a #database client. It's a #figma like UI where users can place queries on an infinite canvas. Results are linked and references are clickable. Click a foreign key to see the referenced data, or a primary key to see everything that refers to that data. There are a bunch more features!

Found a fun solution to #adventofcode day 3 without using regex. #rust
fn puzzle_one(input: &str) -> usize {
    let options = input.split("mul(").collect::<Vec<_>>();
    options
        .iter()
        .filter_map(|option| {
            let scan = option.chars().take_while(|c| c != &')').collect::<String>();
            let (a, b) = scan.split_once(',')?;
            let (a, b) = (a.parse::<usize>().ok()?, b.parse::<usize>().ok()?);
            Some(a * b)
        })
        .sum::<usize>()
}

Here is a #generative art article I wrote on flow fields a while back damoonrashidi.me/articles/flo.... If you like fun algorithms and visualizations check it out! #genart

What I've learned about flow fields so far.
Noise functions and the tiniest bit of trigonometry can take you a long way towards making art.
