This year, 11 of 12 bills we sent to the Governor were signed into law, addressing critical priorities across the district and state. Many of these bills began with ideas raised through conversations with constituents – showing what can happen when community voices help shape legislative priorities.

Storm season, particularly during an El Niño year, is a good reminder to make sure your emergency kit is ready to go. A few basic supplies on hand can help you stay safe and prepared if the power goes out or conditions get rough. Save this checklist and take a few minutes to get ready.

AB 2618 puts a two-year restriction on former California Public Utilities Commissioners becoming lobbyists for utility companies after leaving office. No revolving door between utility regulators and the companies they regulate. Period.

I believe everyone should have access to quality, affordable health care and that reproductive health decisions should remain in the hands of individuals, not politicians. I’ll continue working to protect access to reproductive health care and make health care more accessible and affordable.

AB 1711 addresses a straightforward issue: making sure California’s fairs and fairgrounds have access to the funding they need to maintain safe, functional facilities and continue serving their communities.

My bill AB 2227, which was just signed by the governor, will crack down on wage theft by creating protections for our farm workers who too often are not receiving their full wages. All workers deserve to be paid their fair share and fair wages for their work.

Our public lands belong to us. In Trump's second term, he has come after these lands, removing protections from them and wildlife, and is even selling them off. We must continue to fight to protect our natural lands from destruction and development.

This bill would ensure that after years of service, the pensions of those who put their lives on the line every day are improved and protected. As a proud co-author of AB 1383, I rallied with firefighters and fire responders in Sacramento to get this important bill signed into law.

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to speak to Indivisible Healdsburg to discuss what’s at stake in this election. It was nice to start with some good news: this week the Supreme Court rejected a voter suppression scheme by Donald Trump that would have imperiled the delivery of vote-by-mail ballots.

We need to make sure the costs of new energy and infrastructure don’t fall on everyday ratepayers, while protecting our environment and local communities. I’m proud to be working in the Legislature to make sure California can embrace innovation without asking Californians to pay the price.

I have been taking action for over 20 years to help California combat the threat of climate change. A warming planet means rising sea levels that will put more pressure on our coastal communities, and an El Niño year could make those risks even more immediate this winter.

I’m fighting to make care more affordable, expand access to Medi-Cal & Covered California, lower prescription drug costs, & make sure our communities have the doctors, nurses, & caregivers they need. Everyone deserves quality healthcare when they need it, no matter where they live or what they earn.

For too long, flooding and aging infrastructure have made this critical North Bay corridor unreliable for the people who depend on it every day. The state’s $100m investment is a good start. Now we need to keep pushing until Highway 37 is safer & ready for the future. Read: bit.ly/4crSeKo

Our fisheries support not only fishermen, but also families, small businesses, working waterfronts, and coastal communities. Protecting the North Coast means protecting the people and economies that depend on it. I’ll fight to ensure our coastal communities have the representation they deserve.

California can build faster without sacrificing our communities. SB 954 puts guardrails on CEQA exemptions, protecting public health, workers, tribal resources, and sensitive habitats while supporting good jobs and responsible growth. We can build the future without cutting corners.

With less than 2 months until Election Day, now's the time to make your plan to vote. Will you vote by mail, early, or on Election Day? After you make your plan, ask your friends and family if they are prepared too. This election is incredibly important, and your voice deserves to be heard.

While “Making America Healthy Again” slashes to FDA funding have led to numerous recalls that affect your grocery list. Grabbing kitchen staples shouldn’t require a detailed investigation into health risks. We need robust oversight to catch these issues before they reach our shopping carts.

California’s transition to a clean energy economy must include the workers who powered our economy for generations. We need to make sure displaced oil & gas workers have a real pathway to good-paying jobs and that no community is left behind as our energy landscape changes. bit.ly/4wPhi5p

California is not going back to the days of offshore oil drilling. That's why I am co-authoring AB 1448 with my colleague Asm. Gregg Hart, which would prohibit the state from entering in to new offshore oil drilling leases.

I’ve fought to expand bike and pedestrian infrastructure, improve public transit, and make sure our transportation investments work for everyone. Building communities where getting where you need to go doesn’t have to mean getting stuck in traffic.

Republicans in Washington are cutting the Forest Service and the resources our firefighters need to protect our communities and fight wildfires. We should be investing in prevention and preparedness, not defunding them.

We need the COMPETE Act to level the playing field, strengthen competition, and give working people and small businesses a real shot to succeed. Our current system too often lets those at the top exploit the jobs and opportunities that working families depend on.
