Sister's side of the family are coming back from a short break today but they're all sick. So seeing as we're in Autumn now, I'm cooking something nice, warming and traditional. An Irish stew! Mum's making fresh, seeded bread to go with it and she will also be making dumplings to go in later.

It's a steel pot of Irish stew on the electric stove! It has braised beef, carrots, potatoes, leaks, brown onions, Swede/Turnip and parsnips in there, as well as a beef and vegetable broth.

Although my mobility is improving, someone remind me to NEVER crouch again. I saw Gizmo at the opposite side of the room and *tried* crouching to beckon her over. What happened is essentially this GIF but crouching. Gizmo got pissed off and walked upstairs lmao.

Muscoskeletal appointment is done! Diagnosis? Fucked spine, hence Sciatica. I've been given exercises to do. I unfortunately CAN'T take meds to alleviate it as it would effect my Crohn's.

Feeling a lot better today. Where I've been resting from having flu, my back feels manageable. Flu itself is gone, just I sound like a little girl when I speak due to Laryngitis. Today, I'm going to cook a comfort meal of mine: boiling bacon, mashed potatoes and cabbage with cheese sauce!

Got woken up by my neighbour. She was venting away about me and my family, even lied as to why she moved to this area and opened up a cat sanctuary (says the one who threw a dead cat in our garden years ago.) She moved here because she scammed elderly people of their money. (1/2)

I honestly don't know how much I'll be around on social media atm. Sciatica has progressed. It's affecting my sleep, mobility, day to day life and is very painful. I'm on a list to see a specialist. But hey. Have a picture of Gizmo. She's watching the Doctor Who episode "The 10th Planet."

Also, I can't remember if I mentioned it over the months but... the kitchen renovation finally happened and got completed in two weeks. The old kitchen was 25+ years old, yellowed and had an odd smell. It was a stressful process but this is MUCH better.
